This position has management responsibility for the Project Coordinator/Project Manager/Project Planner roles on their team and will continue to work as a Project Planner on assigned business. For assigned teams, they will act as gatekeeper for all core team projects. Responsible for assisting in the development and mastery of new tools, evolved processes and encouraging the core teams' acceptance of them. The Director, Project Planner is a driver in the financial and vendor aspect of any account, typically on teams which require more finesse and management oversight. Managing financials (yearly scopes, estimates, and billing worksheets), assisting in revenue forecasting and reconciliations, coordinating production, and handling final distribution.
Key Job Responsibilities:
(Duties may include, but not limited to all or some of the following)
This position continues to play an active role on assigned brands as Project Planner.
  • Responsible for overall financial health of assigned brands:
  • Creates and maintains yearly budget scope documents
  • Develops estimates (with resource allocations) for individual tactics
  • Responsible for keeping these documents up-to-date and in-line with current project assumptions.
  • Reviews and tracks all hours billed to projects, working with the finance team to transfer misbilled time and keeping projects clean and accurate
  • Managing and leading monthly forecasting
  • Managing the billing/invoicing process (through billing worksheets)
  • Provides input to quarterly/monthly reconciliation (when needed)
  • Able to manage complex projects and work across multiple brands.
  • Helps team to chart out overarching timing using Gannt charts/rainbow grids
  • Identifies problems and solutions to ensure that client/agency needs are met. Fosters problem resolution across core team by deciphering relevant and important facts and information to drive tangible solutions.
In addition to those core responsibilities are:
  • Management of Project Coordinators/Project Managers/Project Planners on assigned business; ensuring they are consistently meeting expectations of their respective roles.
  • Takes part in operational and process projects as requested.
  • Continually demonstrates strong conflict resolution skills.
  • Utilizes solid knowledge of process and procedures to train new agency operations employees.
  • Encourages and demonstrates a "can-do" attitude, teamwork and cooperation on teams - and translates that to direct reports by empowering them to do the same.
  • Actively contributes to building a unified team structure consistently on a situation-by-situation basis
  • Ability to make decisions under time pressure and know when to escalate to PMO VPs
  • Demonstrates strong, accurate and precise communication skills.
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills (e.g. sensitivity, understanding and maturity level in situations and surroundings).
  • Contributes frequently in departmental meetings and discussions.
  • Mentor, coach and develop others; specifically, direct reports.
  • Aligns with Account, Creative, and Project Management & Operations counterparts to meet overall agency/business goals
  • Works with direct reports to identify and understand needs, including strengthening morale, outlining potential career path opportunities, and developing training programs to ensure growth opportunities are met
  • Work with PMO VPs on running (or assigning) internal projects - New Business, Awards, etc.
  • Be prepared to present Evolvics workflow and process in client orientations or team meetings
  • With other Associate Director/Directors, facilitate monthly Project Manager and Project Planner meetings.
  • Other duties as needed to meet the needs of the team.
Job Qualifications:
Education
  • BS / BA (or relevant experience)
  • 7+ years' experience in advertising/marketing project management or production
  • Previous supervisory experience (nice to have)
Skills
  • Good at establishing clear directions; effective communicator; problem-solver; adaptable communication style; organized; understands job responsibilities of others and functions appropriately
  • Technical Expertise: MS Office Suite; Experience with Project Management software, strong excel skills

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $120,000 to $145,000. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the Syneos Health range for this position. Actual salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. In addition, some positions may include eligibility to earn commissions/bonus based on company and / or individual performance.
