Description Job Summary
The Medical & Scientific Community (MSC) Learning & Development (L&D) Team is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented learning platform Administrator contractor to support MSC learning operations and future learning platform transformation efforts.
This role is responsible for day-to-day administration of the learning platform(s) supporting MSC teams, including user and content maintenance, curricula and learning path management, learning assignments, events, and system clean-up. In addition, the role will support learning platform evaluation, RFP activities, and a potential future migration of learning assets from a local digital learning platform to one or more learning platform(s), anticipated approximately 4-6 months post-hire.
The position plays a critical role in ensuring continuity of learning operations while enabling a seamless transformation of the learning ecosystem, enhancing learner experience, and supporting upskilling of MSC L&D leaders and future administrators.
Key Responsibilities
Learning platform(s) Administration & Learning Operations
- Administer and maintain the LMS to support MSC learning needs.
- Manage users, roles, permissions, and user groups, including onboarding, offboarding, and access updates.
- Create, configure, and maintain learning content, including courses, lessons, curricula, learning paths, and events.
- Assign learning to individuals and populations; manage automated and ad-hoc learning assignments.
- Support instructor-led training (ILT), virtual events, enrollments, attendance tracking, and completions.
- Perform routine system maintenance and clean-up to ensure data accuracy, relevance, and audit readiness.
Content & Curriculum Management
- Upload, organize, version, archive, and retire learning assets in alignment with Medical Affairs and compliance requirements.
- Maintain curricula and learning paths aligned to therapeutic areas, roles, and capability frameworks.
- Ensure content structure, metadata, and audience targeting are accurate and scalable.
Reporting, Compliance & Quality
- Generate standard and ad-hoc reports on learner participation, completion status, and overdue training.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of learning records to support compliance, inspection readiness, and audits.
- Maintain documentation, job aids, and ways of working specific to MSC teams.
Learning Platform Transformation & Migration Support
RFP & Platform Evaluation Support
- Support the learning platform RFP process by assisting with requirements gathering, documentation, and evaluations.
- Partner with MSC L&D Leads, Transformation Team, MSC Digital Lead, IT, Project Management to shape future-state solutions.
- Provide operational input on learning tech capabilities, migration considerations, and administrator workflows.
Migration Planning & Strategy
- Collaborate with MSC L&D Leads to execute a comprehensive migration strategy for learning assets, lessons, and learning paths.
- Conduct assessments of existing content to determine relevance, usage, format, and compatibility with the future platform(s).
- Identify and document content priorities, dependencies, and critical MSC use cases.
Content Migration Execution
- Execute the transfer of learning assets (e-learning modules, videos, documents, and other materials) from the current digital learning platform to the enterprise learning ecosystem.
- Ensure structural integrity, accurate configuration, and adherence to established quality standards throughout migration.
Quality Assurance & Testing
- Perform quality control checks to validate accurate representation of original content post-migration.
- Validate learning paths, assignments, reporting, and user access.
- Identify MSC-critical use cases and support user acceptance testing (UAT) prior to go-live.
- Troubleshoot issues and escalate risks or blockers as appropriate.
Training, Upskilling & Change Support
- Upskill on the new learning platform(s) as they are selected and implemented.
- Provide guidance and best practices to MSC L&D Leads and stakeholders on using the new platform(s).
- Assist in creating training materials, job aids, and learning sessions for end users and future administrators.
- Shape training and onboarding plans for future Learning platform administrators within MSC.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain detailed documentation of migration activities, inventories of migrated content, and rationale for content exclusions.
- Provide regular updates on migration progress, risks, timelines, and outcomes.
- Prepare reports on migration metrics and effectiveness for stakeholders as required.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Education Technology, Instructional Design, Project Management, Information Systems, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in LMS/LCMS/LXP administration, content management, and/or learning platform migration.
- Proven experience delivering large-scale projects on time and within scope in a regulated environment.
- Demonstrated experience with LMS/LCMS/LXP platforms and content migration efforts.
Skills & Competencies
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills with strong attention to detail.
- Strong sense of urgency and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to quickly establish credibility, trust, and collaborative relationships.
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and data analysis.
- Proficiency in database management and structuring data for migration activities.
Technical Proficiency
- Experience supporting learning platform transformations and migrations.
- Familiarity with content migration methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve learning tech-related technical issues in collaboration with IT and vendors.

The anticipated hourly rate for this position is $65.00 but may vary based on various factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role.
