The Senior Manager, Digital Marketing & Content Strategy is a key leadership role within HGA's Brand & Communications team. Reporting to the Director of Brand & Communications, this position leads the firm's digital marketing ecosystem, overseeing how HGA's expertise and market stories are expressed across web, social, video, email, and paid channels.
Operating in close partnership with HGA's Senior Brand Manager and PR Director as peer leaders within the Brand & Communications function, this role sets and executes firmwide digital marketing and content strategy for the national brand and establishes scalable frameworks that support content planning and distribution across HGA's eight sectors. The Senior Manager ensures alignment between storytelling, channel strategy, marketing systems, and performance measurement to support brand awareness, client engagement, and relationship-driven business development.
This role owns the strategic vision and governance of HGA's annual editorial and content calendar, ensuring content programs support the firm's strategic plan, growth initiatives, and the go-to-market strategies of HGA's eight markets. The position manages a digital and content team and oversees the platforms, processes, and analytics that power HGA's digital presence.
In this role you will:

Digital Marketing & Content Strategy Leadership:

    Lead the development and execution of HGA's firmwide digital marketing and content strategy across web, social, video, email, and paid channels.
  • Establish a cohesive national content strategy with adaptable frameworks that support planning and distribution across HGA's eight markets.
  • Ensure digital programs support the full client journey-from brand awareness and thought leadership through ongoing engagement.
  • Incorporate targeted lead capture and nurturing strategies to align digital engagement with business development priorities.
  • Partner with Brand, Communications, Business Development, and Market leadership to ensure digital strategy supports firmwide priorities and growth initiatives.

Editorial Strategy, Planning & Governance:

  • Own the development and ongoing management of HGA's annual editorial and content calendar, setting strategic themes, priorities, and cadence.
  • Ensure editorial programs support the firm's strategic plan, growth priorities, and the go-to-market strategies of HGA's eight markets.
  • Establish governance models and planning processes that align content development, review, and distribution across teams.
  • Partner with Market leadership and Business Development to identify priority topics, campaigns, and thought leadership opportunities.

Content & Channel Strategy:

  • Set editorial direction and content standards across written, visual, and video storytelling, ensuring consistency with HGA's brand voice, values, and positioning.
  • Oversee content strategy for the firm's website, LinkedIn, Instagram, and other digital platforms, ensuring channel-specific best practices and audience relevance.
  • Guide integrated content planning across channels to ensure efficient reuse, adaptation, and amplification of stories.
  • Collaborate with internal teams on the execution of campaigns for awareness, engagement, and marketing activation.

Digital Marketing Operations & Platforms:

  • Serve as the strategic owner of HubSpot as HGA's core content marketing and e-marketing platform, ensuring alignment between content strategy, marketing automation, and performance tracking.
  • Oversee digital marketing operations, including email marketing programs, lead nurturing, segmentation, landing pages, and gated content, ensuring consistency across brand and market initiatives.
  • Provide oversight of paid search strategy in partnership with the Digital Content Manager, ensuring campaigns align with broader brand, market, and business development goals.
  • Guide website strategy, development priorities, and ongoing maintenance in partnership with the Digital Operations Manager and external partners as needed.

Team Leadership & Management:

  • Directly manage and mentor a digital and content team, including the Digital Operations Manager, Digital Content Manager, and Content Writer.
  • Set clear priorities, roles, and expectations to ensure strong collaboration, accountability, and professional growth within the team.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture that balances strategic thinking with disciplined execution.

Analytics, Reporting & Optimization:

  • Establish performance benchmarks and reporting frameworks for digital content and marketing campaigns across channels.
  • Monitor engagement, reach, and effectiveness of content and campaigns, using insights to refine strategy, messaging, and execution.
  • Balance quantitative data with qualitative feedback from Market and Business Development teams to inform ongoing optimization.
  • Communicate insights and recommendations to Brand, Communications, and Market leadership to support informed decision-making.

What you will need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, digital media, or a related field.
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in digital marketing, content strategy, or integrated marketing roles, ideally within professional services or complex, matrixed organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience leading digital marketing and content strategy across multiple channels, including web, social, email, video, and paid media.
  • Proven people management experience, with the ability to lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary digital and content team.
  • Strong editorial judgment and storytelling skills, with experience translating complex or technical subject matter into clear, compelling content.
  • Hands-on experience with marketing automation platforms, preferably HubSpot, including email marketing, segmentation, workflows, and performance reporting.
  • Experience overseeing website strategy, content governance, and digital platform maintenance.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and apply insights to improve content and campaign performance.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with comfort partnering across disciplines, offices, and leadership levels.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Salary Information:

The pay range listed aligns to the geography of the office for which this position is posted. Actual compensation will be based upon work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Individuals in this role working more than 24 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in HGA's robust benefit programs which include an annual bonus and success sharing bonus program, 401(k) guaranteed contribution, paid parental leave, medical, dental and life insurance plans as well as PTO and short- and long-term disability programs. Salary Range: $111,700 - $150,700 (Mid-West); $128,455 - $173,305 (East|West Coast) depending on qualifications, experience and location.
