POSITION SUMMARY

The Site Leader is responsible for managing a maintenance station, performing equipment maintenance procedures on a fleet of Airport Ground Support Equipment, maintaining a high-quality standard. Will work on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems for many different types of Ground Support Equipment (GSE). Mechanics will adhere to and comply with service bulletins, and perform computer-based software updates, diagnostics, and troubleshooting GSE. This role covers maintenance and repair of a broad range of ground support equipment, including but not limited to tow tractors, belt loaders, pushback tractors, air start units, cargo loaders, deicers, hydraulic lifts, tugs, and aircraft refueling trucks. Responsibilities also include close communication with multiple Customers to report on Equipment Status and coordinate work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee a team of technicians, ensuring that their performance meets the company safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
  • Manage the work schedule based on equipment availability and customer operational needs.
  • Ensure work area cleanliness, tool accountability, and appropriate shop.
  • Manage the Office Administrator and ensure that work is properly documented in the ERP system, this includes: Managing purchasing to maintain stock levels. Maintaining an inventory of spare parts.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, HVAC, and/or electrical discrepancies on various Ground Support Equipment (GSE) systems and subsystems.
  • Inspect, repair, rebuild/overhaul components, such as mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, HVAC, and hydraulic systems.
  • Manage the relationship with the customer to ensure that work processes follow site safety and workflow guidelines.
  • Communicate Equipment status and repairs ETC to customer.
  • Keep direct manager informed of all relevant activity, providing a high level of detail so the customer's expectations can be managed and changes to the scope of work can be accounted for.
  • Create/Analyze site activity performance indicators and prepare corrective actions from these indicators.
  • Manage punctual projects related to the maintenance station.
  • Other assignments as designated by the Regional Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred, with a technical degree a strong plus
  • Must have strong mechanical and electrical aptitude and the ability to understand and troubleshoot heavy equipment
  • Must have shop floor experience and the ability to manage the work schedule and have a presence for all three shifts
  • Must have strong leadership skills, though aptitude would be considered
  • Must have strong communication skills and judgment, with the ability to keep management informed and to know, with training, when to escalate a problem or issue
  • Must be accessible via phone for emergencies
  • Strong Microsoft Office Skills including Excel and PowerPoint
  • 5S (or equivalent) experience for floor organization
  • ERP experience

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers.
  • Must be able to read and speak the English language.
  • Ability to work both as a team and/or independently with great success.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • No travel restrictions.

NICE TO HAVE CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Med/Heavy Truck Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification preferred.
  • Universal HVAC certification preferred.
