Job Description:

Provides operational oversight, implements vision, strategy and goals and supports continuous improvement of the clinical education function. Supervises employees ensuring alignment with organizational goals, regulatory standards and best practices managing resources and fostering a culture of excellence, accountability and professional growth.

Principle Responsibilities

  • Leads Department.
    • Provides operational oversight and manages department employees.
    • Oversees recruitment, onboarding, training and ongoing professional development.
    • Conducts employee performance evaluations and manages performance.
    • Implements the vision, strategy and goals for EMS clinical education.
    • Collaborates with clinical education leadership to align educational initiatives with organizational priorities.
  • Education Delivery.
    • Delivers training to staff and community groups, applying adult learning principles in classroom and scenario-based settings (indoor and outdoor).
    • Travels to various sites, transporting equipment as needed.
    • Prepares materials and administers curriculum.
    • Provides feedback to learners regarding exams and skills.
    • Evaluates immediate learner response and acts to mitigate issues.
    • Provides expert consultation, integrating knowledge of clinic and regulatory standards into learning solutions.
  • Provides clinical education program oversight, process improvement and innovation.
    • Ensures quality and consistency in curriculum design, delivery, and assessment.
    • Monitors compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
    • Evaluates program effectiveness and leads continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Leads the adoption of new technologies, methodologies, and best practices in clinical education.
    • Cascades process improvements and new tools to the team.
  • Stakeholder Engagement.
    • Serves as the primary liaison between clinical education and other internal departments, external partners and regulatory agencies.
    • Represents the department in organizational committees and initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's or Vocational Degree in EMS education or nursing depending on clinical setting
  • 5 years in learning and development or relevant field
  • 4 years in EMS clinical care

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in EMS education or nursing depending on clinical setting

Licenses/Certifications

  • Certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)-MN Office of EMS or
  • Certified Paramedic-MN Office of EMS or
  • Licensed Registered Nurse MN Board of Nursing
  • Licensed Registered NurseWI Dept of Safety & Professional Services required for Registered Nurses in Wisconsin practice settings
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Provider Certification (Paramedic certification or licensed registered nurse - American Heart Association or American Red Cross upon hire. After hire recertification required through American Heart Association) or
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certification (EMT certification - American Heart Association or American Red Cross upon hire. After hire recertification required through American Heart Association)
  • American Heart Association ACLS/PALS Instructor Certification (Paramedic certification or licensed registered nurse within 6 months of hire) or
  • American Heart Association BLS Instructor Certification (EMT certification within 6 months of hire)
  • Department of Transportation Instructor Certification preferred

Pay Range

Pay Range: $42.92 to $59.38 per hour The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
