Job Description

TheLead Software Engineerwill provide senior technical leadership in building and scaling Affluent Charter'sbenefit discovery and redemption platforms, delivering intuitive, reliable, and highperformance digital experiences for customers and partners. This role blendsdeep handson engineering expertise, architectural ownership, and crossfunctional leadership, ensuring complex benefit ecosystems are transformed into simple, customercentric experiences.

This position is ideal for a seasoned engineer with a strong product mindset, extensive experience designing distributed systems, and a passion for mentoring teams while remaining close to the code.

Key Responsibilities:

Platform & Architecture Leadership:

  • Lead thearchitecture, design, and implementationof benefit discovery and redemption services across web, mobile, and partner integrations.
  • Own thetechnical roadmapfor scalable benefit catalogs, eligibility determination, redemption flows, and fulfillment systems.
  • Ensure platforms meet high standards forperformance, reliability, security, and maintainability.
  • Drive architectural decisions that balance rapid iteration with longterm platform evolution.

Engineering Execution & Mentorship:

  • Act as a senior technical leader and handson contributor across core platform initiatives.
  • Mentor and guide engineers across teams in a matrixed organization, setting standards for design, code quality, and delivery.
  • Decompose complex initiatives into executable work and ensure alignment across multiple teams.
  • Promote best practices in system design, testing strategies, observability, and documentation.

Partner & Integration Enablement:

  • Lead complex integrations with benefit providers, merchants, and technology partners.
  • Solve multisystem challenges spanning identity, eligibility logic, redemption workflows, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Serve as the primary technical escalation point for highimpact partner and customer integrations.
  • Translate business, product, and regulatory requirements into robust technical solutions.

Quality, Process & Scale:

  • Define and evolveengineering and integration standardsaligned with enterprise and fintech best practices.
  • Build and improvesimulation, sandbox, and integration testing toolsto accelerate development and partner onboarding.
  • Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and operational requirements.
  • Deliver against platform reliability, performance, and experience KPIs.

Customer & Product Advocacy:

  • Represent customer needs within engineering, advocating for clarity, simplicity, and exceptional user experience.
  • Incorporate feedback from customers, partners, and internal teams into continuous improvements.
  • Collaborate closely with product, design, and support teams to ensure technical execution meets experience goals.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

10+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 7 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 4 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 13+ years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

12+ years of professional software engineering experience, including significant time in senior or lead engineering roles.

Proven track record designing and delivering largescale, customerfacing platforms.

Technical Expertise:

Deep experience designing and consuming APIs and distributed services (REST, JSON, OAuth).

Strong understanding of web technologies (HTTP, HTML, JavaScript, CSS).

Experience with mobile platforms, SDKs, and integration testing tools (e.g., Appium).

Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages and paradigms, with a strong foundation in objectoriented design.

Experience with CICD pipelines, release management, and tooling (e.g., JIRA, Jenkins, Maven or equivalents).

Domain experience in payments, loyalty, benefits, eCommerce, or fintech platforms is highly desirable.

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for this position is 192,300.00 to 307,600.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
