CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Senior Inspector to join our Construction Inspection Team in Charleston, SC, where you will take an active role in monitoring, documenting, and confirming the quality of infrastructure projects that serve communities every day. This is an exciting opportunity to utilize your experience on meaningful projects while collaborating closely with contractors, project teams, and clients to help deliver safe, reliable, and high quality construction outcomes.



What You'll Do:

    Observe and document construction activities to ensure compliance with contract documents, plans, specifications, and approved submittals
  • Verify quality of completed work through field measurements, computations, and monitoring of contractor quality control efforts
  • Identify nonconforming work and support evaluation of corrective actions to ensure acceptability
  • Review contractor payment applications, change orders, and quantities of completed work to support progress payments
  • Coordinate with owners, contractors, and project teams while maintaining clear reports and accurate project records


What You Bring:

  • High School Diploma required; Associate's degree in Engineering Science, Construction Management, or related technical field preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years of related construction observation experience required
  • Prior roadway and/or bridge construction experience preferred; SCDOT experience strongly preferred
  • AASHTOWare experience preferred
  • Knowledge of construction techniques and ability to comprehend construction documents
  • Ability to work independently in the field while collaborating effectively with project teams and assisting senior team members with complex projects
  • Strong communication and mathematics skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Valid driver's license required; extensive travel may be required
  • Asphalt Roadway Technician, Earthwork and Base Technician, Level 1 & 2 Concrete Field Technician, or ACI concrete field-testing technician certification preferred

Salary Range:

$37.00 - $43.00

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
