Job Posting: Senior Tax Analyst Position: Senior Tax Analyst Location: Columbus, Ohio - Hybrid Employment Type: Full-Time Department: Tax / Finance About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Tax Analyst to join our tax team. In this role, you will support all aspects of corporate tax compliance, reporting, planning, and analysis, including both direct and indirect tax. You will collaborate closely with internal finance partners, external advisors, and tax leadership to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across all tax functions. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who gets energy from seeing all areas of tax with exposure to other finance and business operations. Key Responsibilities
- Manage indirect tax functions, including sales & use tax, property tax, and other indirect tax compliance, by working with external partners and internal software
- Prepare and review supporting schedules for federal, state, and local corporate income tax returns that are prepared by external partners.
- Partners with accounting team during month-end close to ensure timely and accurate tax account reconciliations and adjusting entries
- Assist with tax audits and notices, by coordinating responses, gathering data, and drafting explanations.
- Monitor changes in tax laws and help assess their impact on the business.
- Contribute to process improvements, including automation, documentation, and internal controls.
- Analyze tax positions, perform research, and document findings in clear, concise technical memos.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.
- 4-6+ years of relevant tax experience (public accounting, corporate tax department, or combination).
- Experience preparing or reviewing US sales & use tax returns is strongly preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. federal and state income tax rules, including preparing income tax returns is a plus
- CPA or progress toward CPA is a plus
- Experience with tax incentives is a plus
- ASC 740 experience is a plus.
- Experience preparing Canada GST/HST and Mexico VAT, a plus
- Proficiency with tax preparation software (e.g., Avalara, Vertex, OneSource, CorpTax), a plus
- Microsoft Excel advance skills is a plus.
- Proficiency with large ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, CSD), is a plus
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- A self-starter who takes ownership and works well both independently and in a team.
- Supervisory experience, a plus
