Your role in our success:

The Inventory Coordinator is directly responsible for the procurement and maintenance of adequate inventory levels to facilitate the timely completion of capital and operations & maintenance projects at multiple locations. This position will coordinate with a multitude of vendors to ensure that Chesapeake Utilities is receiving the highest quality products that comply with company standards while closely monitoring associated costs.

What you'll be working on:



  • Coordinate the purchasing of inventory at various facility locations to provide adequate levels of materials that will facilitate the timely completion of DNGD projects.
  • Conduct frequent physical inventory counts while reconciling any discrepancies.
  • Assist accounting during cycle counts and yearend inventory counts and supply them reasons for any variances.
  • Receiving deliveries from vendors into the Epicor system, following up on backordered or undelivered items, and stocking materials in predetermined locations.
  • The entering of orders into the Epicor system for the issuance of purchase order numbers to track materials.


Who you are:



  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • 1+ years of warehouse, inventory management, or supply chain experience required.


  • Standard driver's license.
  • Strong computer skills with a proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • High level of integrity and analytical skills required along with the ability to make sound reasonable decisions. Also must be able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Works well in group problem solving situations.
  • High level of concise, clear, and objectively written and oral communication necessary to establish strong business relationships with employees, contractors, and vendors.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be able to pass a Department Of Transportation physical and be able to attain a CDL.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Forklift Certification.
