Managing Director, Lead of Risk Analytics - Middle Market, Commercial Risk, North America

This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our New York City Office

What the day will look like

Reporting to the Head of Risk Analytics for Commercial Risk in North America, you will partner with leadership across NA Commercial Risk broking, North America Middle Market Geo, and global analytics product teams to meet your objectives. The analytics product leaders bring detailed class expertise that you will apply to ensure efficient and scalable distribution of analytics within the US Middle Market segment. You will build Aon's Middle Market risk analytics agenda by using your commercial insurance analytics skills, insight into Middle Market buyers and distribution models, and capacity to collaborate across broking, sales, product analytics, and external partners. You will:

  • Act as a key member of the Risk Analytics team, collaborating closely with analytics leaders across Regions, Products, and ACIA/ABS. Together, you will build and carry out a unified analytics agenda. You will ensure that Risk Analytics align closely with Aon's strategic Risk Capital propositions. These efforts will be developed across solution lines and intentionally crafted to encourage collaboration rather than isolated offerings.
  • Develop and lead the strategy and implementation for Middle Market Risk Analytics within Commercial Risk in North America. This aligns with the direction from Commercial Risk leadership, Middle Market Geography Leadership, and Risk Capital Analytics leaders. The goal is to ensure our capabilities and offerings stand out, remain commercially relevant, and meet the needs of US Middle Market clients.
  • Leverage diverse existing and emerging capabilities from partners both within and beyond Risk Analytics. Source, develop, industrialize, and improve analytics capabilities, models, frameworks, toolkits, and distinct delivery platforms that offer winning insights for the Middle Market.
  • Collaborate closely with product / class analytics leaders, including Head of Property Risk Analytics, Head of US Casualty Risk Analytics, Head of Financial & Specialty Risk Analytics and Head of Risk Analytics for North America, to ensure that each product's analytics roadmap explicitly addresses Middle Market requirements and enables scalable delivery of insights through our Middle Market broking and client development channels. This involves offering strategic mentorship, alignment, and usecase clarity rather than running every build directly.
  • Collaborate with North America Middle Market Geography Leadership and NA Commercial Risk broking leadership to integrate analytics into essential broking workflows, sales processes, go-to-market campaigns, and client delivery, making sure that tools and insights are consistently applied by brokers, AEs, and producers to improve results.
  • Function as a strategic guide and ally to NA Middle Market clients, brokers, and sales colleagues. Deliver scalable analytics, narratives, and resources that back distinct broking solutions and marketing efforts.
  • Develop analytics expertise and proficiency within colleagues in the Middle Market segment along with other Aon employees, functioning as a subject-matter guide for learning and development initiatives. This includes:
    • Collaborating with Middle Market Leadership and L&D to identify key learning needs
    • Contributing to the development and delivery of training, playbooks, communities of practice, and mentoring that build confidence and adoption of Risk Analytics in daytoday client work
    • Promoting a culture of datadriven decision making, integrating Risk Analytics into key NA Middle Market sales, broking and delivery processes.
  • Act as Aon's representative in the external market during client engagements, conferences, client events, and thought-leadership, supporting Aon's reputation for excellence in Risk Analytics, while monitoring trends in the Middle Market landscape.
  • Collaborate with NFP and other strategic partners to:
    • Align on Middle Market analytics standards, value propositions, and priorities
    • Support potential rollout of analytics tools and content across the NFP network
    • Move towards consistency of client experience and insight delivery between Aon and NFP channels

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Deep experience in Commercial Risk analytics, with:
    • Considerable emphasis on US Middle Market insurance analytics in a brokerage or carrier setting
    • Solid understanding of Middle Market buyer profiles, trading methods, and distribution frameworks
  • Consistent track record of crafting and implementing analytics strategies that embed analytical capabilities into frontline broking, client acquisition, and servicing for Middle Market clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to work across multiple product or class lines (e.g., Property, Casualty, Financial & Specialty) and to bring them together into coordinated Middle Marketrelevant propositions.
  • Experience shaping and working alongside senior leaders across broking, product, sales, and external partners, including the ability to gain followership without direct line authority.
  • Comfortable operating in a matrixed delivery model where you lead the vision and commercial agenda, while delivery is driven by product analytics and shared delivery teams.
  • A solid technical and analytical foundation (actuarial or quantitative skills are a plus but not required) enables you to turn complex analytical ideas into engaging, business-focused stories for brokers and clients.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities, including experience engaging with senior internal and external partners.
  • Verified business and financial proficiency, with the skill to associate embedded capabilities with revenue growth, margin improvement, and client value.
  • Strong networking and relationshipbuilding skills across the insurance and analytics communities.
  • Verified success in managing transitions, supporting innovation, and building a culture centered on collaboration and persistent development.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop analytics proficiency in nontechnical audiences, including experience providing or leading training, enablement, or communityofpractice initiatives.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field.

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $275,000 to $325,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
