As a Security Officer - Part Time Entry Screening Post in West Palm Beach, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. You will document observations, communicate clearly with staff and the public, and help maintain orderly access points. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to site visitors and staff by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct entry screening operations at designated checkpoints, including monitoring walk-through detectors and/or hand-held wands, completing bag and property checks as directed, and verifying authorized entry credentials.
  • Control access to restricted areas by logging visitors, issuing temporary passes as required, and directing individuals to the appropriate location while maintaining a professional presence.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including reporting suspicious activity, policy violations, and/or emergencies to the appropriate personnel.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, including interior and exterior routes and the perimeter, to help to deter prohibited activity and/or unauthorized access.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience or have a college degree.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Be 21 or more years of age.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
  • Have a state, county, or city issued security license, preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
