Your Opportunity: Taylor Corporation is looking for a Software Developer II who can design, develop, enhance, and support enterprise applications in a production environment. This role focuses on delivering high-quality technical execution, strong problem solving, and continuous skill growth, while collaborating closely with senior developers, QA, and cross-functional teams to build reliable, scalable solutions.

This position is ideal for a developer who is independent in day-to-day development and ready to grow toward senior-level technical ownership and leadership.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain application code following established coding standards and best practices
  • Enhance and support existing VB.NET and C# applications, including troubleshooting defects and implementing improvements
  • Participate in refactoring and modernization efforts to improve system stability, maintainability, and performance
  • Collaborate with senior developers on solution design, technical approach, and implementation planning
  • Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects with attention to performance and data integrity
  • Investigate and resolve production issues, defects, and performance concerns in a timely manner
  • Contribute to integrations using RESTful APIs and service-based architectures
  • Ensure appropriate error handling, logging, and validation are implemented in application code
  • Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback to improve code quality and consistency
  • Work closely with QA, Business Analysts, and Operations to clarify requirements and support testing and deployment activities
  • Support release preparation, deployment validation, and post-release troubleshooting
  • Maintain accurate task updates, documentation, and status communication
  • Continuously build technical knowledge and contribute ideas for improving systems, tools, and processes
  • Collaborate effectively within a cross-functional team environment and contribute to shared delivery goals

You Must Have:

  • 3-5 years of professional software development experience in a production or enterprise environment
  • Strong working knowledge of C# and .NET development
  • Practical experience supporting or enhancing VB.NET applications
  • Solid SQL development skills, including queries, stored procedures, and basic performance considerations
  • Experience with Git-based source control and tools such as Azure DevOps or TFS
  • Ability to troubleshoot defects, analyze issues, and implement effective solutions with limited supervision
  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and grow technically
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience

We Would Also Prefer:

  • Experience working with RESTful APIs or service integrations
  • Exposure to Microsoft Azure or other cloud platforms
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated builds, or deployment processes
  • Experience supporting production-critical enterprise applications
  • Exposure to Agile or hybrid development methodologies
  • Understanding of secure coding practices
  • Interest in mentoring junior developers as skills progress toward senior level

The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $80,000 - 100,000. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The range listed is just one component of Taylor Corporation's total compensation and benefits package for employee.
