Journeyman Information Security Analyst Position Summary The Journeyman Information Security Analyst serves as a hands-on FISMA/FedRAMP Subject Matter Expert responsible for executing and supporting security control assessments in accordance with NIST SP 800-53 and IRS assessment processes. Key Responsibilities Perform technical security control assessments for SA&A, ASCA, and Event-Driven SCA efforts. Develop and update assessment artifacts including SAPs, SSPs, SARs, SCTMs, and Action Item Lists. Conduct evidence collection, stakeholder interviews, control assessment meetings, and findings validation. Support activities including template maintenance, process improvements, automation initiatives, and knowledge transfer to IRS staff. Provide SME support to assessment teams and assist with audit responses and data calls. Required Qualifications 5-8 years of experience in information security, cyber risk management, or IT security operations. At least 3 years of hands-on experience conducting system security assessments in federal or enterprise environments. Education & Certifications Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field. CompTIA Security+ CE required. CISSP, CISM, CEH, or CAP preferred.
