Position summary:

The Assistant Sample Technician is responsible for providing quality yarn delivery units by adequately and correctly performing tube bank yarn blow ups andhanging creels, to produce carpet samples.

Educational requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalency required

Skills and experience:

  • Tufting and/or yarn handling experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.

Essential duties:

  • Demonstrate proficient understanding of yarn systems and Pilot Plant operations.
  • Maintain proper individual and departmental production records.
  • Blow up yarn to run on tufting machines.
  • Be able to manually write a thread up diagram for each Pilot Plant tufting machine.
  • Maintain housekeeping
  • Know and comply with all safety rules
  • Comply with environmental regulations
  • Be aware of, and able to access, departmental Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) via the P.A.S.S. system.
  • Ensure ISO procedures are followed.
  • Understand and support Interface's commitment to sustainability.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned

Physical demands:

  • Occasional 10 - 12 hour shifts and/or 6-7 day work weeks.
  • Constant Standing

Work environment:

  • Non-climate controlled manufacturing environment
