A Brief Overview
Responsible for the overall operation of the King of Prussia Campus Emergency Department (ED), Admissions, and Peri-Operative Access Operations teams. This includes ensuring the smooth flow of ED and Peri-op patient check-in and registrations, inpatient admissions, and supporting a wide range of clinical and non-clinical programs, projects, and initiatives, including those connected to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia strategic and operating plans across the enterprise, as well as departmental and divisional plans. Works collaboratively with all clinical and support service departments.

What you will do

  • Ensure the overall operations of the Emergency Department (ED), Admissions, and Peri-op Access Services teams
  • Evaluates employee customer service quality and registration accuracy & efficiency to ensure continued high performance, patient & family experience, and nursing & provider satisfaction. Establishes individual and departmental performance metrics
  • Maintains strong, collaborative partnerships with clinical and support service departments, such as Nursing, Advance Practice Providers (APPs), Transport, Social Work, Child Life, Family and Visitor Services, Environmental Services, and Information Services, to ensure excellent patient care and patient & family experience
  • Assists Operations Director in developing and monitoring operational systems for maximum efficiency
  • Assists Operations Director with developing and implementing departmental policies & procedures and other KOP Campus and Enterprise operational initiatives
  • Directly supervises and coaches supervisors, leads, and frontline staff
  • Participates in employee recruitment activities and disciplinary actions as appropriate
  • Monitors insurance reports and assists with any needed documentation for government programs
  • Manages staffing, supply, and service resources based on approved annual budgets in collaboration with Operations Director and Finance Business Partner
  • Reviews dashboards and work queues to triage and correct issues while assessing opportunities for operational improvement
  • Develops and ensures downtime procedures are kept up to date and reviewed quarterly
  • Develops and manages workflow processes between admissions coordinators, bed management team, pre-visit office, and ED registrars
  • Collaborates with support service department and nursing units to provide all patients and families accurate orientation to unit and hospital, and is responsible for maintaining and updating patient and family facing written materials, such as the admissions folder and welcome brochures
  • Responsible for informing families of any delays identified during rounding and perform service recovery as needed

Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree - Required
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Management, or other Healthcare related field of study -Preferred

Experience Qualifications

  • At least two (2) years Supervisory experience and/or demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team - Required
  • At least four (4) years Healthcare management and/or operations experience - Preferred

SALARY RANGE:

$98,820.00 - $126,000.00 Annually

Salary ranges are shown for full-time jobs. If you're working part-time, your pay will be adjusted accordingly.
