Position Agreement An internship position at ENH must be referred and accepted from a partner university with a current MOU. The MOU between E-Nini-Hassee and the specific university will outline the roles and responsibilities of the university, the intern, and ENH. The intern must be recommended by the university and interviewed by ENH leadership to ensure an appropriate match. The intern must meet the Florida DCF Level ll background clearance guidelines and should have completed the semester before the proposed internship semester. The internship will not commence until the student has cleared the Level II background check. The intern candidate will be considered a direct care staff member; however, they will not assume direct responsibilities of group leadership or specific trained duties, such as counting in ratio. They will always be in the presence of a trained staff member. They will be required to complete an initial training plan, including ENH initial job training, which includes HIPAA, Child Abuse: Awareness, Prevention, Reporting, and Incident Reporting. In addition, the intern will complete applicable portions of the ENH 90-day Phase l Counselor in Training Checklist. Roles and expectations of interns are clearly enforced, and the internship will be terminated if expectations are not adhered to. Position Concept The position is designed to be classified as a direct care position lasting approximately 16 weeks in the semester before graduation, or as described in the partner university's agreement with E-Nini-Hassee. The intern will have an opportunity to experience through observation, planning, and debriefing, group work, family sessions, and individual sessions. The intern will experience through observation and practice youth assessments, development of treatment plans, and treatment plan reviews. The intern will assist in youth orientation and discharge planning. The intern will always shadow a trained staff member and have the opportunity to experience day-to-day operations activities with youth, staff, and external agencies. The intern will be responsible for completing all established training and coursework in compliance with both Eckerd and the University of origin. Essential Functions of Interns

Position Specifications Education: Be enrolled in an accredited university that partners with ENH/Eckerd for internships. Skills: Verbal skills to relate effectively with youth on an adult level, without patronizing, required. Must be referred by a partnering university and recommended by the university for this specific internship. Must complete a verbal interview with ENH leadership team. Special Requirements: Must be 21 years of age OR approved by the university and licensing agency. Travel: Must be able to travel to ENH and live on site for the duration of the internship. Other: Must successfully pass a background screening process, including, but not limited to, state, local, and funder criminal background check requirements. Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy. Physical Demands: Ability to travel about the property, through wilderness terrain. Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods of time. Constant exposure to outdoors and/or weather conditions. About our Program Camp E-Nini-Hassee was founded in 1969 by Jack and Ruth Eckerd as the first outdoor therapeutic program for girls at-risk in the southeast. We provide a positive, strength-based environment for girls ages 12-18 to experience nurturing guidance. We present a reality-therapy approach in a residential, outdoor therapeutic environment, using alliances with staff and group therapy to provide safety, adventure, and education. Each girl receives individualized treatment and is supported with family services. We provide an accredited education on site with certified teachers and transferable credits. We help girls considered at-risk who are struggling with school, causing family conflicts, experimenting with drugs, experiencing depression, have low self-esteem, or are exhibiting emotional problems and behavioral issues.
