Job Description
Primary Purpose
The Paralegal Senior II supports the Legal Department with corporate, transactional, litigation, and operational issues. Collaborating with in-house attorneys, departments like finance and compliance, and external counsel, this role is crucial for protecting the Company's interests and streamlining legal processes. It requires sound judgment, collaboration, multitasking, and independent project management.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage special projects for the legal department, including those focused on improving process, organization, accessibility, and retention of legal and corporate information.
- Manage data cleanup, migration, and process standardization efforts to ensure accurate, secure, and reliable information management across systems.
- Conducts comprehensive reviews of matters and undertakes all pre-action steps as well as post-litigation procedures.
- Identifies underlying issues in areas of expertise and works independently on complex assignments, including client inquiries, transactions, projects, claims, disputes, and/or proceedings, and produces concise written materials for clients, attorneys, or outside counsel without direct supervision.
- Reviews communications, reviews procedures, drafts documents, provides research and background information to legal leads.
- Undertakes legal research for cases of a complex nature and conducts fact-gathering interviews with clients or witnesses.
- Manages, maintains, and updates tracker for legal budget and reviews outside counsel bills for compliance with billing guidelines.
- Advises business partners on legal matters and escalates issues to other departments.
- Participates in court or hearings in support of attorneys.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Education
- Typically requires a 4 year degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
Experience
- Typically requires 8 years of related experience.
- 5+ years of experience in a corporate legal department or large law firm, with demonstrated experience supporting complex corporate, transactional, or regulatory matters. (Preferred)
- Experience managing legal documentation, contract processes, and information management systems in fast-paced, high-volume environment. (Preferred)

- Legal Research - The process of identifying and retrieving information necessary to support legal decision-making.
- Legal Drafting - Prepares written legal documents, including a motion, a letter, a brief, a memo, or a contract.
- Documentation & Records Management - Creating, distributing, using, maintaining and disposition of recorded information maintained as evidence of business activities and transactions.
- Litigation Support - Litigation support is the process of providing consultation and support services to lawyers in regard to current and pending cases.
- Contract Administration - The process of managing and overseeing the execution, performance, and compliance of contracts between parties involved in a business agreement, including customers and vendors.
- Commercial Negotiation - The planning, reviewing, analysis and other activities that a buyer and seller conduct to reach an agreement.
- Case Management & Investigation - The process an organization uses to handle, route, resolve, and report on conflicts or issues.
- Legal Interpretation - Scrutinizing legal texts such as the texts of statutes, constitutions, and contracts to bring out or explain the meaning of law.
- Regulatory Compliance - Ensuring an organization's adherence to laws, regulations, guidelines and specifications relevant to its business processes.
- Knowledge Management - The process of creating, sharing, using and managing the knowledge and information of an organization.
Work Schedule
HYBRID: Work a combination of onsite and remote days each week, typically 4 days per week onsite.

$115,500.00 - $182,500.00 / year
