What is the Opportunity? Under direction of the Director, Issue Governance & Risk Programs, the Manager, Issue Management role is responsible for the maintenance, communication and holistic management of issues, including but not limited to, the monitoring, oversight and aggregate reporting of issues across the Bank from their identification through remediation and closure. What will you do?
Contribute toward the implementation, and drive the ongoing evolution of RBC Bank's Issue Governance and Reporting across all issue types for the Bank Oversee and assess the completeness and quality of issue records within Risk systems, which include the end-to-end lifecycle of each issue (e.g. Issue Identification to Issue Closure) Advise and partner with issue owners to analyze and document issue root cause and appropriate action plans Assess ongoing Bank compliance with RBC Issue Management Policies and Standards and manage escalations as appropriate Provide input to support RBC Bank's interactions with regulators on matters relating to the Issue Management Program Develop and implement continuous improvements in process, procedure and reporting to proactively address regulatory expectations and to align with industry practices Provide aggregated reporting of issues and actions across RBC Bank and make accessible to all Three Lines of Defense Draft issue and action closure packages with appropriate evidence for closure in partnership with Business Controls leads and Control owners Rebaseline past due issues and actions within systems of record in partnership with control owners Prepare executive level Committee and Ad Hoc Issue and Action level reporting across RBC Bank, proactively identifying key risks and emerging areas of concerns to be addressed by executive leadership Leverage data within risk systems to report key risk indicators for RBCB issues and analyze trends Partner with other 1LOD Control Office partners for emerging issues from control testing, operational risk events, etc. Provide support for issue owners on controls needed for issue sustainability Develop and maintain procedures and/or job aids for issues management and reporting Collaborate with RBC to drive closer alignment as needed
What do you need to succeed? Must-have:
2-4 years of experience in a risk and control function such as risk management, internal audit, compliance 3+ years in the financial services or other regulated industries Experience leading Issue Management activities Strong communication skills (written and oral) Self-motivated professional Bachelors' degree, or equivalent Experience with operating in a highly matrixed environment Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Previous experience in financial services industry and/or risk management. Technology savvy / self-sufficient with excellent working knowledge of Confluence, SharePoint, MS Office applications (including Excel and PowerPoint), Archer, Tableau/Power BI Analytical skills with experience working with large data sets Demonstrated ability to think critically and work collaboratively Self-motivation, discipline, task focus, the ability to structure and present work with a proven record of delivering high quality results within strict deadlines. Must have the ability to multitask and prioritize several concurrent initiatives. Knowledge of OCC, FRB, and CFPB rules and regulations nice to have
