We are looking for a qualifiedUSMC TPS-80 Ground/Air Task Oriented Radar (G/ATOR) Engineering Technician.

The candidate will provide direct technical support to the Government In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA) as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the AN/TPS-80 G/ATOR system. In this role, the candidate will provide expert technical advice for the operation, training, maintenance, and repair of deployed systems. In addition, the candidate will: provide technical assistance to fleet Marines in the initial setup and operation of newly deployed systems and will provide refresher training as required; provide documentation of the results of maintenance, troubleshooting, and problem resolution actions; provide remote support and/or on-site troubleshooting and repair in response to requests for technical assistance.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Support engineering efforts related to the development, testing, and analysis of G/ATOR upgrades, replacement, or modifications

  • Analyze requirements, develop acquisition documentation, and support configuration management of documentation
  • Recommend, review, and test Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) for engineering accuracy and ability to implement on fielded systems
  • Provide engineering task/project management for the Radar Engineering Team and provide technical support for the fielding of the production system to USMC Units
  • Participates as part of a test team, supporting test planning, defining data to be collected during test, collecting test data, performing data analysis, and generating summary reports for presentation.
  • Supports engineering efforts related to design, testing, and analysis of G/ATOR upgrades or modifications.
  • Evaluates test plans and provides recommendations for data collection.
  • Supports test execution, acting as data collection coordinator and lead for data reduction and analysis.
  • Participate in post testing analysis, group discussion and report generation.
  • Participate in testing and evaluation of G/ATOR system improvements and new software baselines, documenting test results and recommendations
  • Participate in maintenance procedure changes
  • Participate in technical documentation review and modifications

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Practical experience operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting USMC air search radar systems (e.g., TPS-80, TPS-59, TPS-63, etc.)
  • Practical experience with Air Defense/Surveillance Radar (AD/SR), Air Traffic Control (ATC) Radar, or Ground Weapons Locating Radar (GWLR) operations
  • Practical experience with preventative maintenance processes
  • Experience with deployment and setup of ground-based mobile radar systems
  • Familiarity with USMC logistics support and repair parts requisition processes
  • Interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills
  • Personal computer skills (competent with MS Office applications)

Desired Qualifications and Skills:

  • Associates Degree in Technical field, Technical Certification or USMC Radar MOS
  • Five years minimum
