Summary
The Senior Financial Analyst coordinates, performs, and oversees the budgeting and financial activities related to the department, including cost centers, departmental and sponsored budgets, revenues (including revenue cycle management), and gift accounts as they relate to formal and informal departmental goals, standards, policies, and procedures. The Sr. Financial Analyst analyzes department financial data and develops complex reports for forecasting and results analysis. The Sr. Financial Analyst assists in financial studies and analysis regarding projected changes in revenues and expenditures, and ensures compliance with department and/or agency regulations and restrictions. This position may train others in budget-related policies and procedures.

Essential Functions

Financial Analysis and Reporting
* Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
* Analyze financial performance against budgets, forecasts, and prior periods, providing explanations for variances.
* Present financial information and analysis to non-financial stakeholders clearly and understandably.

Finance Business Partnering
* Collaborate closely with business leaders and operational teams to understand their objectives and challenges, explaining financial concepts and implications to facilitate informed decision-making.
* Act as a strategic advisor, providing financial expertise and insights to support business decisions and improve financial outcomes.
* Assist in the development and monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess business performance and drive improvements.

Labor Management
* Develop and maintain labor productivity reports, analyzing workforce efficiency and identifying areas for improvement.
* Collaborate with HR and operational teams to understand labor-related metrics and provide insights to optimize labor costs.
* Implement strategies to enhance labor productivity and workforce efficiency in collaboration with business partners.

Budgeting and Forecasting
* Prepare accurate and comprehensive capital and operating budgets and financial forecasts, incorporating input from various departments.

Validate budget assumptions, challenge discrepancies, and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
* Monitor budget performance, identifying areas of concern, recommending corrective actions, and assisting in reforecasting as needed.

Cost Accounting
* Conduct in-depth financial analyses to support strategic decision-making, such as expansion plans, service additions, and capital investments.
* Ensure the accuracy and integrity of cost data and accounting records through rigorous data validation and reconciliation processes.
* Continuously assess and improve cost accounting methodologies and processes to adapt to changing healthcare industry dynamics.

Process Improvement
* Identify process inefficiencies related to budgeting, variance analysis, and labor productivity reporting.
* Work closely with cross-functional teams to streamline financial processes, enhance data accuracy, and improve reporting efficiency.
* Implement best practices and recommend system enhancements to optimize financial analysis and reporting functions.

Ad-Hoc Analysis and Projects
* Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis and participate in special projects related to financial planning, analysis, and business strategy.
* Support strategic initiatives by providing financial insights and modeling scenarios as needed.

Work Experience: Requires a minimum of five years of experience in finance, preferably in a healthcare setting.

Education: Requires a Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Healthcare Administration, or a related field. MBA preferred.

Salary Range: $34.41 /hour - $56.82 /hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
