Credence is seeking an Appian Administrator responsible for the administration, maintenance, and operational support of enterprise applications built on the Appian low-code platform. This position will support Credence's contract with the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) and provide portfolio hosting support for multiple Appian applications and environments. The role plays a critical part in ensuring the availability, security, performance, and reliability of Appian environments hosted in Amazon Web Services (AWS). The ideal candidate has hands-on experience supporting Appian in cloud-based environments and collaborating with development, DevOps, and security teams to support mission-critical systems for federal customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Appian Platform Administration

  • Administer and maintain Appian AoK environments built for Contract Writing use cases within a DevSecOps platform
  • Manage Appian deployments, upgrades, patches, and hotfixes in accordance with vendor and organizational standards
  • Monitor application health, performance, logs, and system alerts; troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Manage users, groups, roles, and security permissions within Appian
  • Support application releases and environment promotions in coordination with development and DevOps teams
  • Maintain system documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures

AWS Cloud Operations

  • Support Appian environments hosted in AWS, including EKS, IAM, CloudWatch, and related services
  • Monitor cloud infrastructure performance, availability, and cost
  • Assist with provisioning, scaling, backup, and disaster recovery strategies for Appian environments
  • Support security controls, patching, and compliance activities in AWS environments
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure-level issues impacting application performance or availability

DevOps & Automation

  • Support CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation for Appian applications
  • Manage environments with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure smooth application deployments and environment stability

Security & Compliance

  • Enforce security best practices for Appian and AWS environments
  • Support audit readiness, logging, monitoring, and compliance requirements (e.g., NIST, FedRAMP, DoD, or similar frameworks as applicable)
  • Coordinate with cybersecurity teams to remediate vulnerabilities and implement security enhancements

  • US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a public trust
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Active CompTIA Security+ certification, or ability to obtain one within first 3 months
  • 3+ years of experience administering Appian applications in enterprise environments
  • Experience with Kubernetes to include EKS or similar containerized technologies
  • Hands-on experience supporting applications hosted in AWS
  • Strong understanding of Linux-based systems and application hosting
  • Experience with monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps concepts
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Appian Administrator or Developer certification
  • AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, or Cloud Practitioner)
  • Experience supporting government or regulated environments
  • Familiarity with SSO, IAM, and identity management integrations
  • Experience with scripting or automation (e.g., Bash, Python)
  • Exposure to FedRAMP, DoD, or other compliance frameworks
