Job Description

Position Summary:

Organizes plan and schedule and oversees Heat treat production 9 heat treat furnaces to ensure that processing procedures are carried out according to specifications by performing the following duties.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

In performing functions, duties or tasks, employees are required to know and follow safe work practices, and to be aware of Company policies and procedures related to job safety, including safety rules and regulations. All functions, duties or tasks are to be carried out in an honest, ethical and professional manner, and to be performed in conformance with applicable Company policies and procedures. In the event of uncertainty or lack of knowledge of Company policies and procedures, employees are required to request clarification or explanations from superiors or authorized company representatives.

  • Reads production, heat treat process records, or traveler instructions to determine processing and furnace specifications.
  • Observes processing of material through furnaces and records and compares information with schedules to ensure compliance with processing specifications; informs supervisor of deviations from processing instructions; and documents problems, procedures and production.
  • Writes reports describing processing delays and deviations.
  • Reviews production deviation reports, corrective actions and root causes of deviations to ensure feedback into the ERP system
  • Time tracking and record keeping of DPR data, downtime, operation time, and non-conformance.
  • Post transactions into Syteline
  • Coordinates cross functionally for maintenance and repair of furnaces calibration and furnaces units and report tooling issues to engineering
  • Schedule for 1st , 2nd , 3rd shift
  • Work weekend as required to meet production goals
  • Observes and oversee furnaces survey and calibration are up to date
  • Maintain current backlog of workload and escalates deviations from production schedule with proposed corrective actions
  • Responsible for reporting of production and employee hours.
  • Prepares daily and weekly production schedule to ensure company targets are achieved
  • Completes DPR (Daily Production Report) and furnace HTPR ( Heat Treat process record) light up sheets.
  • Identifies tooling or material shortages and follows up with management or supervisor
  • Fill in for reporting on TOC Line-walks.
  • Create Best Practice for loading/racking instructions
  • Writes MRR's for non-conforming product.

Required Skills:

  • Knowledge of all types of materials and thoroughly familiar with their characteristics with regard to Heat Treat.
  • Ability to interpret shop travelers, drawings and procedures and WI (work instruction).
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before managers or other Company employees.
  • Ability to work assigned schedule with minimal absences
  • Ability to work weekends to support heat treat through put plan and company targets.
  • Ability to calculate time and amounts such as time at temperature, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Experience & Education

  • 4+ years in Planning/Scheduling/Lead Manufacturing
  • AMS2750 Experience Preferred
  • NADCAP Experience Preferred

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $21.50 to $27.00 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter . Employees will receive 80 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.
