The opportunity

Southern New Hampshire University's Analytics Team is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to develop and maintain business and operational metrics, reporting solutions, and analyses that enable our stakeholders to focus on the success of every student. In this role, you will use tools like SQL, Power BI, and DAX to gather and analyze data, create compelling visualizations and presentations, and collaborate with Analytics Team members and internal stakeholders across the university to deliver actionable insights and recommendations. You will work with a team of Analysts, Analytics Engineers, Data Scientists, and Database Developers who deliver data-driven insights, using data collected from student interactions beginning with first contact through graduation and beyond. You will report to the Director of Analytics. #LI-remote

In this Role You'll Get To:

  • Gather and analyze data from several databases and other sources to perform analyses and build reporting solutions to support our internal stakeholders
  • Code, build and maintain complex reporting solutions using MS SQL, Power BI, and other reporting tools
  • Collaborate directly with university stakeholders to gather business requirements, interpret metrics, and deliver iterative analyses in response to ad-hoc needs
  • Advise and assist partners in determining the appropriate analytical methodologies to address business questions/problems/objectives
  • Create and present executive-level visualizations and analyses to business partners, collaborating to interpret results and deliver clear, actionable recommendations that incorporate stakeholder feedback
  • Translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences
  • Design and assist with implementation of process improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with other Analysts, Analytics Engineers and our Data Warehouse team, to ensure consistency of reporting, minimize duplication of effort, and identify/rectify limitations in data sources
  • Contribute to the evolving use and exploration of AI-enabled tools within our Analytics team
  • Actively participate in data governance initiatives

What We're Looking For:

  • 6+ years of experience in a business intelligence or data analytics role, including reporting, analysis, and data storytelling
  • 2+ years of practical experience working directly with MS SQL, Power BI, and DAX
  • Bachelor's degree in business, mathematics, sciences, or a related field
  • Knowledge of modern data warehouse concepts and experience using relational databases for business intelligence reporting and analysis
  • Highly proficient with Excel (can perform complex functions) and other Microsoft Office tools
  • Experience designing rich storytelling data visualizations to communicate complex business concepts.
  • Experience working directly with partners from initial request through deployment

Compensation

The annual pay range for this position is $77,794.00 - $124,491.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations. We expect this position to be hired in the following target hiring range $85,961.00 - $116,299.00.
