Summary:

Under general direction of the Director of Shared Testing Services, the Performance Testing Manager - SAP and MAWM will manage multiple IT teams within one or more functional areas. They manage teams providing solutions to one or more internal or external customer(s). The will be accountable for departmental people, process, tools and partner decisions, management, and results and are responsible for staying within department budget. Skilled in management, hiring, training, performance evaluation, and coaching/mentoring. This role will be accountable for tactical and operational level team metrics.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Formulates and develops effective test architecture based on organizational needs.

  • Manages teams to support testing strategies and activities.

  • Ensures overall integrity of testing strategy.

  • Consults in short- and long-term planning efforts with team members, clients and other IT groups.

  • Ensure team alignment to the correct priorities and goals.

  • Collaborates effectively and on an ongoing basis with all constituents involved in solution planning, development and operation.

  • Consults on the Master Performance Test Plan.

  • Performs analysis on estimates versus actuals and implements improvement plans.

  • Point of escalation for resource contention (both human and environment)

  • Consults/advises team members during test planning workshops, test readiness reviews, and test results reviews.

  • Participates in architecture and technical specification review and provides feedback on content and testability.

  • Consults on impact analysis on the change to existing architecture, work processes and systems.

  • Consults on tool decisions to support the technical testing requirements.

  • Reviews test plans.

  • Consults on the design, development and usage of testing frameworks and technologies.

  • Measure the effectiveness of testing frameworks and technologies.

  • Consults on the design, development of reusable components.

  • Reviews test plans and test cases for multi-application, enterprise-wide testing efforts.

  • Provides assistance to internal and external auditors in compliance reviews.

  • Main point of contact for compliance issues.

  • Informs project stakeholders of execution completion and status results.

  • Consults on test execution as needed.

  • Works with the delivery organization to identify and resolve process problems when desired service outcomes are not being met.

  • Accountable for continuous improvements to test coverage, execution, automation, security and mobility.

  • Point of escalation for delivery support for technical testing engagements

  • Sets expectations for documentation creation and quality.

  • Point of escalation for the completeness and accuracy of all documentation for assigned work products.

  • Works with process improvement teams to streamline documentation requirements.

  • Establish technical testing policies, standards and procedures, in collaboration with the Quality Management team.

  • Working with the Continual Process Improvement framework, recommends process improvements.

  • Participates in Governance and Improvement initiatives to measure and improve EITS processes.

  • Establish system environment standards.

  • Establish metrics that measure all material aspects of testing processes.

  • Meets regularly with team to gather work statuses.

  • Discusses work progress and obstacles.

  • Provides advice, guidance, encouragement and constructive feedback.

  • Establishes measurable individual and team objectives that are aligned with business and organizational goals.

  • Documents and presents associate performance assessments.

  • Recognizes and rewards associates commensurate with performance.

  • Provides input to the identification and development of potential future leaders.

  • Manage the evaluation of future technologies and make recommendations based on research and experience.

  • Influences technical direction and use of technologies after making necessary evaluations.

  • Collect feedback on vendor proposals for new service, hardware and software and make decisions based on input, research and experience.

  • Manages the formal reporting of project status.

  • Accepts feedback from lessons learned sessions and implements improvement plans.

  • Main point of contact for other leaders in the Delivery Management domain.

Experience & Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.

  • Typically requires 3 or more years of leadership experience (team lead or above).

  • Typically requires 10 or more years of related information technology work experience.

  • Typically requires minimum of 7 or more years of quality assurance experience.

  • Experience in performance testing SAP and MAWM platforms - required

  • Experience in leading teams of performance test engineers - required

  • Experience in performance testing global solutions, hosted in countries outside you reside.

  • Multiple Software Testing Assurance Certification from an accredited institution (i.e. AS2, QAI, ISTQB, etc.) preferred.

  • Expertise with the operational usage of industry supported testing tools.

  • Advanced/expert level of knowledge on testing concepts, methodologies and processes.

  • Expert understanding of script execution and reporting.

  • Ability to interpret policy based on facts and recommend proper course of action when situation demands.

  • Ability to negotiate testing criteria and timelines with key stakeholders.

  • Strong knowledge of relevant testing technology, methodologies and tools.

  • Skilled in the communication of organization information through department meetings, one-on-one meetings, and other communication vehicles.

  • Supports an environment of open and upward communication with all staff to ensure positive employee morale, effective conflict resolution and upward flow of creative ideas for the benefit of the Company and its employees.

  • Advanced recruiting, mentoring and coaching skills. Utilization of a quantitative hiring framework.

  • Ability to resolve enterprise level project issues effectively and efficiently

  • Ability to prioritize work load and consistently meet deadlines

  • Ability to communicate at a leadership level.

  • Ability to provide immediate and constructive feedback to team members to advance their enterprise influence and impact.

  • Ability to analyze conflicting priorities between projects or teams and make resolution decisions or recommendations based on what is best for the enterprise.

  • Knowledge of multiple solution delivery frameworks (iterative, waterfall, etc)

  • Experience managing geographically disparate teams.

  • Knowledge of business drivers, strategies, risks and threats. Knowledge of how company business units make money.
