Description

The IT Business Analyst is a dual-focus role that serves as an essential bridge between the business community and the application development team. You will maintain a dynamic balance between providing high-touch production support and driving long-term project initiatives for our core systems. As a Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will develop a comprehensive understanding of our business processes to ensure our JD Edwards (JDE) ERP and proprietary .NET Framework/CORE applications operate at peak effectiveness.

Work Performed

Application Support & Maintenance



  • Provide front-line support and administration for JD Edwards (ERP), custom .NET applications, and installed 3rd-party software.
  • Interface with software vendors to resolve complex end-user issues and assist with security maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot custom application issues to identify breakdowns in process, system failures, and integration gaps between JDE and custom .NET applications.
  • Perform data-level validation and comparison using advanced SQL queries to ensure data integrity across the .NET/CORE custom ecosystem and JDE.
  • Continuously evolve into the primary Functional Lead for proprietary systems, maintaining a deep 'logic map' of how custom code supports specific business workflows.
  • Serve as the primary system administrator for key third-party and enterprise platforms for purposes of managing complex workflow rules, system configurations, user security permissions, and overseeing the technical health of automated data exchanges between these platforms and the JDE/custom ecosystem.


Project Execution & Development



  • Consult with departments to design and implement system enhancements that improve business processes.
  • Translate business requirements into detailed technical change and enhancement specifications for the development team.
  • Perform testing and QA support for custom application code changes to ensure high-quality rollouts.
  • Assist with the technical and functional implementation of new software packages.


Documentation & Training



  • Build and maintain a comprehensive library of technical and training documentation.
  • Develop modern training assets, including video tutorials, "tip sheets," and FAQs to support user adoption of custom .NET applications.


JOB REQUIREMENTS (Skills/Knowledge):



  • SQL Proficiency: Essential for data analysis, troubleshooting, report development, and application QA.
  • Custom Environments: Proven experience working within a custom software development lifecycle (SDLC), preferably involving MS .NET/.NET CORE.
  • Analytical Excellence: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential for navigating complex, integrated systems.
  • Documentation: Ability to create clear, concise technical specs and engaging training content.
  • Communication: Ability to communicate clearly with both technical developers and non-technical business audiences.
  • Customer Service: Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Sharepoint, Salesforce, Prism, and/or J.D.Edwards experience a plus.


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:



  • Education: B.S. degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field is preferred. A comparable combination of professional experience and specialized technical training may be accepted in lieu of a formal degree.
  • Experience: Three to five years of relevant experience in a custom software development or application-heavy IT environment is required.
  • Technical Priority: Proven technical aptitude and the ability to navigate complex software ecosystems are prioritized over specific industry (CRE) experience.
