Accounting Assistant

Position Summary:

The primary functions of an accounting assistant would be to support the accounting department with numerous daily activities.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Review reconciliations to ensure that they are prepared properly
  • Overall knowledge of chart of accounts
  • Assist with project requested by management
  • Prepare invoices
  • Assist in inventory analysis
  • Assist accounting team during month-end closing
  • Assist accounting manager with year-end financial audits

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferably in accounting
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of related work experience
  • Strong Excel skills
  • General knowledge of accounting procedures
  • Complete understanding of AP and AR

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position in an office environment 80% of the time.
  • Will frequently move about inside the office to access files, office machinery, etc.
  • Must be able to operate basic office machinery.
  • Must be able to communicate with team and management and be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Must be able to move any files weighing up to 10 pounds for audits, etc.
  • Constantly works in indoor office environment.

Required Cognitive Skills:

  • Must be able to problem solve and prioritize tasks.
  • Must be able to manage stress depending on deadlines and ongoing projects.
  • Must be able to multitask.
  • Must be able to receive and analyze information.
  • Must be able to review documents, spreadsheets, financial statements, etc.
  • Must be ability to identify mistakes on documents, spreadsheets, etc.
