POSITION SCOPE

The Welder joins metal parts using welding equipment to create and repair metal structures. They read blueprints, set up parts, and use various welding techniques to ensure strong and durable joints. Welder duties also include inspecting materials, maintaining equipment, and adhering to safety protocols.

PRIMARY DUTIES



  • Using welding equipment to fuse metal pieces together, creating strong bonds
  • Interpreting technical drawings to understand specifications and dimensions
  • Preparing metal parts for welding by aligning, clamping, and ensuring proper positioning
  • Employing various welding methods, including arc, gas, and resistance welding
  • Checking the quality of welds for defects and ensuring they meet standards
  • Ensuring welding equipment is properly maintained and functioning safely
  • Wearing appropriate safety gear and adhering to safety regulations
  • Welding to fix damaged or worn-out metal parts and structures
  • Utilizing hand tools for tasks like clamping, grinding, and cleaning metal surfaces
  • Following instructions and specifications provided in blueprints or other documentation
  • Perform other duties as assigned


REQUIREMENTS



  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old
  • Welding skills with both stick and wire welders required
  • Must be able to read blueprints
  • Experience with machining a plus
