Senior Product Manager - Simoa Instrumentation & Diagnostics Strategy
Billerica, MA

Quanterix is a global leader in ultra-sensitive biomarker detection, enabling breakthroughs in disease research, diagnostics, and drug development. Its proprietary Simoa technology delivers industry-leading sensitivity, allowing researchers to detect and quantify biomarkers in blood and other fluids at concentrations far below traditional limits. With more than 3,400 peer-reviewed publications, Quanterix has been a trusted partner to the scientific community for nearly two decades. In 2025, Quanterix acquired Akoya Biosciences, The Spatial Biology Company, adding multiplexed tissue imaging with single-cell resolution to its portfolio. Together, the combined company offers a uniquely integrated platform that connects biology across blood and tissue-advancing precision medicine from discovery to diagnostics.

ROLE SUMMARY:
Quanterix is seeking a Senior Product Manager, Simoa Instrumentation & Diagnostics Strategy to lead product lifecycle management, strategic execution, and market expansion planning for the next generation of Simoa instrument platforms. This is not a "maintenance" role; you will be the primary architect of the narrative and roadmap that transitions our next-generation hardware from the research lab into the clinical and diagnostic mainstream.

Reporting to the Director of Product Management, Instrumentation & Software, this role will serve as the business and technical owner for Simoa instrumentation while also supporting the evolution of the platform toward clinical diagnostics markets and regulated applications.

The successful candidate will combine strong technical depth with commercial and strategic insight - ensuring that Quanterix's ultra-sensitive Simoa assay platforms continue to lead in both research and diagnostic settings.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Instrumentation Product Leadership

  • Lead the end-to-end lifecycle management of the Simoa instrument portfolio (HD-X, SR-X, SP-X, Simoa One, and future platforms).

  • Build and present compelling business cases to the Executive Leadership Team to secure buy-in for multi-year hardware investments and roadmap pivots.

  • Distill insights from global Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) into high-impact product requirement documents (PRDs).

  • Partner with R&D, Engineering, Operations, and Quality to deliver instrument upgrades and new products on time and within scope.

  • Lead the Go-To-Market strategy for hardware platform launches globally. Define pricing, positioning, and value propositions that resonate with a diverse customer base.

Diagnostics Strategy Support

  • Support the Director of Product Management in defining the roadmap for Simoa's clinical and translational transition, including diagnostic platform readiness, assay integration, and compliance considerations.

  • Partner with Regulatory, Clinical Affairs, and Quality to understand requirements for IVD and LDT markets, ensuring instrument design and documentation align with future regulatory pathways.

  • Gather market intelligence across diagnostic disease areas (neurology, oncology, immunology, etc.) to guide prioritization of platform features and partnerships.

  • Collaborate with Business Development to evaluate and support strategic collaborations and OEM opportunities in the diagnostic space.

Commercial & Market Alignment

  • Support global commercial teams with technical training, sales enablement, and customer engagement.

  • Develop collateral and content that communicate Simoa instrumentation advantages across both research and clinical applications.

Customer & Market Insight

  • Build deep relationships with key opinion leaders, translational researchers, and early adopters in both academic and clinical settings.

  • Conduct ongoing VOC and field interactions to shape next-generation platform priorities.

  • Represent Quanterix at major scientific and industry conferences as a Simoa product expert.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, life sciences, or a related technical field (advanced degree preferred).
  • 5+ years of product management experience with life science instrumentation, analytical systems, or medical devices.
  • Proven track record managing complex hardware products through concept, launch, and sustainment.
  • Experience working in regulated or quality-controlled environments (IVD, GMP, or ISO 13485).
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across R&D, operations, and commercial teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Clinical Transition: Direct experience moving a platform from RUO to IVD.
  • Technical Depth: Familiarity with digital immunoassay technology, fluidics, automation, and/or high-sensitivity optical detection.
  • Storytelling: Exceptional ability to translate "deep tech" into "business value" for non-technical stakeholders

EXPECTATIONS, COMPETENCIES, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Strategic thinker with strong execution discipline.
  • Highly collaborative and comfortable in a matrixed, fast-paced environment.
  • Technically fluent of assay, hardware and software interactions.
  • Able to leverage data and translate complex scientific and engineering concepts into customer and business value.
  • Onsite presence in Billerica, MA (preferred); travel up to 10% domestically and internationally.

WHY YOU'LL LIKE WORKING WITH US:

Our Technology:
From discovery to diagnostics, Quanterix's ultrasensitive biomarker detection is fueling breakthroughs only made possible through its unparalleled sensitivity and flexibility. Simoa technology has delivered the gold standard for earlier biomarker detection in blood, serum or plasma, with the ability to quantify proteins that are far lower than the Level of Quantification (LoQ). Our industry-leading precision instruments, digital immunoassay technology and CLIA-certified Accelerator laboratory have supported research that advances disease understanding and management in neurology, oncology, immunology, cardiology, and infectious disease.
Akoya Biosciences, a Quanterix company, is The Spatial Biology Company-bringing tissue context to life through high-resolution, single-cell imaging. Akoya's spatial phenotyping platforms help researchers visualize and measure how cells organize and interact within tissue to influence disease progression and therapeutic response. From discovery through clinical research, Akoya offers a full continuum of solutions, including PhenoCycler, PhenoImager Fusion and HT, and PhenoCode Panels. As part of Quanterix, Akoya complements a leading portfolio of ultra-sensitive biomarker detection technologies, together enabling a more complete view of biology and disease across both tissue and blood.
