Job Title: Arbitrator II
Location(s): Atlanta, GA(Hybrid).

Position Summary:

  • The Arbitrator is responsible for reviewing and resolving customer vehicle claims in accordance with National Arbitration policies and applicable auction guidelines.
  • This role investigates disputes, facilitates communication between buyers and sellers, and negotiates resolutions to maintain positive client relationships while ensuring policy compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Arbitration & Claims Review:
  • Review customer claims to ensure compliance with National Arbitration policies and account-specific guidelines.
  • Investigate routine to moderately complex cases, including:
    • Late title claims.
    • Basic condition report claims.
    • Vehicle availability issues.
    • Post-sale inspection failures.
    • Mechanical, structural, or undisclosed vehicle damage.
  • Apply defined decision-making frameworks to reach fair and policy-aligned outcomes.
  • Utilize authorized financial approval limits to resolve cases.
Investigation & Case Management:
  • Gather, compare, and validate documentation, inspection reports, invoices, and related evidence.
  • Coordinate with internal departments (reconditioning, front office, dealer services, vehicle entry, etc.) during fact-finding.
  • Facilitate inspections and ensure documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Maintain detailed and organized case files, including settlement agreements.
  • Escalate cases to supervisor/manager when necessary.
Client Communication & Mediation:
  • Explain arbitration processes, policies, and guidelines to buyers and sellers.
  • Serve as a neutral mediator to negotiate repairs, pricing adjustments, or other resolutions.
  • Facilitate written and verbal communication among all involved parties.
  • Provide timely updates on claim status.
  • Work toward mutually acceptable resolutions that preserve vehicle sales whenever possible.
Compliance & Policy Adherence:
  • Learn and apply:
    • National Auto Auction Association (NAAA) arbitration standards.
    • Marketplace policies.
    • Relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop foundational knowledge of auction operations and administrative workflows.
Safety & Additional Duties:
  • Adhere to all safety and health procedures.
  • Support organizational safety initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience:
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in claims management, dispute resolution, or conflict resolution preferred.
  • Claim adjuster experience is a plus.
  • 1+ year of automotive, mechanical, or body shop experience preferred.
