The Role:
Our site in Chaska, MN is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician Co-op to join our team for the Fall 2026 season. This assignment is intended to be 6 months in duration.

This Quality Assurance Technician Coop position offers a handson opportunity to support our APS Quality team in Chaska. Working closely with experienced Quality Technicians, Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and NPD teams, the coop will gain exposure to advanced metrology, inspection methods, data analysis, and real-world problem solving in a highprecision manufacturing environment. The role will contribute directly to improving measurement capabilities, supporting Production inspection technique improvements, and performing six sigma/lean initiatives to emphasize continuous improvement. This position is ideal for a student seeking meaningful industry experience, opportunities to learn advanced inspection tools and techniques, and the chance to impact quality performance and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.

What You'll Do:

  • Support part measurements for incoming, in process, and finished products using a variety of advanced metrology tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, CMM equipment).

  • Perform capability studies to evaluate process performance and support datadriven decisionmaking for manufacturing and quality improvements.

  • Conduct Gage R&R studies to assess measurement system variation and ensure inspection methods are reliable and repeatable.

  • Improve and refine measurement techniques, including developing new inspection methods and proving out their effectiveness through data and validation.

  • Lead and complete continuous improvement (Green Belt-style) projects from initiation through implementation, including problem definition, data collection, analysis, and verification of results.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives-including Lean, Six Sigma, and 6S activities-to streamline inspection workflows and reduce waste.

  • Support Quality Engineering by executing improvement tasks tied to previous quality excursions, such as measurement method enhancements.

What We Seek:

  • Experience with measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gages, drop indicators, etc.

  • Experience with CMM, visual measurement systems, and comparators. Programming skills for this equipment are preferred.

  • Basic understanding of measurements techniques, mechanical concepts, and GD&T.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word) and comfort with digital data entry.

  • Is willing to learn quality systems, inspection methods, and basic metrology concepts from experienced technicians and engineers.

  • Is enthusiastic about improving processes, identifying issues, and supporting continuous improvement activities such as 5S, Lean, or basic root cause analysis.

  • Takes pride in accuracy, organization, and consistency in your work.

Desired Major(s) & Graduation Year:
Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology
Other related STEM or technical fields with interest in manufacturing, graduating in December 2026 or later.

Eligibility:

  • Must be a currently enrolled student

  • Available to work 40 hours a week, M-F (8a-5p) beginning in mid-May/June through August/September.

  • Must be familiar with the university's requirements to participate in a co-op program

  • Entegris is not currently hiring candidates for co-ops/internships who will need, now or at any time in the future, Entegris sponsorship through the H1-B lottery.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The physical requirements for this role include the ability to walk throughout production and inspection areas and to stand for extended periods while performing inspection or measurement tasks. The position also requires regular use of hand tools and basic measurement equipment such as calipers or micrometers, as well as the ability to lift up to 35 pounds as needed in a manufacturing environment. Coop students must be able to wear required PPE-including safety glasses and steeltoed shoes-and may occasionally work in a cleanroom environment depending on assignment.

Compensation: $20-$30/hour range with actual pay dependent on candidate overall skills for the role
