The Opportunity

Ulteig is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Project Management Supervisor for the Power Lifeline Sector. As a leader of the project team, you will be responsible for leading a subset of internal project management teams, fostering on-the-job leadership development, encouraging additional and efficient team growth, in addition to managing the day-to-day execution of engineering projects in a cost-effective manner and in accordance with requirements and standards as set forth in the project contract(s) for our most complex and large-scale projects. This individual will report directly to the Manager, Project Management in the Power PM department. The PM Supervisor is a self-starting leader who will aid the Manager, Project Management with project and team success, people development, and organizational excellence.

What You'll Do

Team Management



  • Aid in maintaining and growing a positive team culture.
  • Provide direction, leadership, and technical services oversight for employees on achieving individual, team, department, and organizational performance goals.
  • Coach, train, and develop project managers and project coordinators for growth and development opportunities.
  • Serve as the point of contact for escalating team issues, managing conflicts, and facilitating communication between team members.
  • Facilitate team meetings and actively manage team resource planning.
  • Perform individual performance reviews, training, and professional development for team members.


Project Management



  • Lead large, multi-disciplinary engineering projects from initiation through close-out for the Power Lifeline Sector.
  • Manage all aspects of project execution, including scope, stakeholder management, change management, schedule, budget, and quality.
  • Critical coordination of highly matrixed project execution teams to ensure resources are focused on the right activity at the right time to meet project schedule.
  • Lead project meetings, including progress reviews and problem-solving sessions.
  • Ensure that all project deliverables meet quality standards and client expectations.
  • Ensure availability or seeks out adequate resources to support the project.
  • Develop and implement detailed project plans, including risk management and mitigation strategies.
  • Proficient in analyzing problems, identifying alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions and implement recommendations to support project scope, schedule, and cost objectives.


Collaboration & Communications



  • Function as the key project representative for clients, providing regular updates on project status and addressing any concerns.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure that technical aspects of the project are properly managed.
  • Lead overall project, coaching, conflict resolution, facilitation, motivation, and negotiation
  • Communicate with Senior Leadership, clients and stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status and addressing any concerns.
  • Work collaboratively with the Project Management Team to ensure project schedules and costs are managed and tracked to plan.


Schedule & Cost Planning



  • Ensure that project timelines are maintained and milestones are met.
  • Monitor project progress and take corrective actions to keep projects on schedule, along with keeping the project plan up-to-date.
  • Monitor and control project budgets to prevent overspending.
  • Keep track of all financial transactions related to the project.
  • Monitor and control project costs.
  • Ensure effective and timely change management


Project Reporting & Compliance



  • Monitor ongoing project health and track key metrics.
  • Adhere to Ulteig governance policies and procedures for project success.
  • Apply a deep understanding of contract strategy with both prime and client agreements to ensure alignment and successful project execution.


Team Effectiveness



  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
  • Demonstrates excellent leadership, verbal/written communications, time management, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ensure that best practices are shared and implemented effectively across projects and teams.
  • Deeply understands business objectives and stakeholder needs.
  • Provide training and support to all project team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.

What We Expect from You



  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, Business Administration, or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of project management experience, with significant experience in engineering projects, power industry experience preferred
  • Technical engineering knowledge, with the ability to understand and coordinate solutions for complex engineering challenges required
  • PE, PMP, CCM or equivalent certification preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and a proven track record of managing multi-disciplinary teams, including project and/or program management, services, engineering, operations, and procurement
  • Passion for People Leadership, Coaching, and Mentoring
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, Planview Adaptive Work), with advanced understanding and experience of scheduling and cost planning
  • Microsoft Dynamics (Finance & Operations) experience preferred
  • Demonstrates openness to innovation by embracing and applying evolving technology and AI tools to enhance workflows, solve problems, and drive continuous improvement
  • Up to 15-20% travel required
  • Must have authorization to work permanently in the U.S.

Target Base Compensation Range for this role is $108,000 - $146,000
* Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your job specific skills, education, training, job location, number of years of experience related to this role and comparison to other employees already in this role
