Fishbeck is seeking a motivated Staff Environmental Scientist/Specialist to join our Due Diligence team. This role is ideal for an environmental professional with strong analytical skills, a passion for highquality work, and the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams. You will support and lead environmental site assessments, due diligence evaluations, and redevelopmentrelated investigations while helping deliver clientfocused solutions across Michigan.


What You'll Do


  • Conduct environmental due diligence projects, including standard and customized Phase I ESAs in accordance with ASTM standards.
  • Prepare clear, concise reports that evaluate environmental conditions and potential liability risks.
  • Plan, perform, and oversee Phase II ESA investigations, including field sampling of soil, groundwater, and other environmental media.
  • Manage multiple projects, maintaining alignment with scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
  • Communicate proactively with clients, internal teams, and subcontractors.
  • Collaborate on Brownfield Redevelopment projects and work closely with other Fishbeck remediation and compliance teams.


What We're Looking For


  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of environmental due diligence is beneficial, and experience performing Phase I and Phase II ESAs in accordance with ASTM standards is a plus
  • Understanding of environmental regulations, business transactions, and liability frameworks; familiarity with Michigan programs preferred.
  • Strong technical writing, data evaluation, and communication skills.
  • Michigan Asbestos Building Inspector accreditation or relevant experience identifying and sampling asbestos is a plus.



Minimum Physical Requirements

Ability to conduct site visits, navigate outdoor environments, and perform sampling activities. Work may include sitting, standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, and the use of standard sampling tools. Must be able to operate a vehicle for project travel and use standard office technology. Visual acuity is required to perform reporting and field responsibilities.
