At Worley, our purpose is delivering a more sustainable world. We're a global professional services company of energy, chemicals and resources experts partnering with our customers to solve complex problems and create value over the life of their assets. Right now, we're bridging two worlds - accelerating to more sustainable energy sources while helping to provide the energy, chemicals and resources society needs today.

With nearly 50,000 people across 45 countries, we're united by a shared ambition: to be recognized as a leader in sustainability solutions. We know we can only achieve this by bringing together experienced leaders who can align strategy with execution. That's where you come in.

Purpose of the role

Play an integral role in aligning planning and scheduling excellence with our broader business objectives.

As Senior Manager, Planning/Scheduling, you will be responsible for leading and evolving our planning capability to ensure consistent, high-quality project delivery across a portfolio of complex programs. You will connect long-term strategy with short-term execution, ensuring that our projects are delivered safely, predictably and efficiently - while supporting our customers' most critical ambitions.

You will influence outcomes within broad organizational policies, shape new concepts and approaches, and lead change across multiple projects and teams. This role looks ahead up to 12 months and beyond, anticipating risks, unlocking opportunities and ensuring alignment with our sustainability and growth ambitions.

Core Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Leading planning and scheduling functions across major projects or programs, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy and customer expectations.

  • Setting the policy framework and governance standards for project planning, controls and reporting.

  • Managing and directing teams of planning professionals, directly or through other leaders, including selection, development, performance management and succession planning.

  • Developing and implementing tactical plans to achieve organizational goals, troubleshooting complex challenges and driving continuous improvement.

  • Overseeing the design and adoption of new systems, processes and tools that strengthen planning capability and data integrity.

  • Ensuring accurate forecasting, progress measurement, change management and performance reporting across multiple projects.

  • Communicating complex proposals, risks and recovery strategies clearly to senior leadership and customers, influencing decision-making at the highest levels.

  • Championing collaboration across engineering, project management, commercial and functional teams to deliver integrated, data-driven solutions.

  • Driving organizational project change initiatives and embedding best practice planning methodologies across the business.

What you'll bring to the role

What you'll bring to the role is deep technical expertise combined with strategic leadership. You understand not only how to build a schedule, but how to build capability, culture and confidence in planning outcomes.

You will demonstrate:

  • A university degree in engineering, construction management, project management or a related discipline - or equivalent relevant experience.

  • Typically 15+ years of relevant experience, including significant supervisory, project management and technical planning experience on large, complex projects.

  • Advanced knowledge of planning and scheduling systems, processes and tools, with the ability to troubleshoot issues and guide others.

  • Proven experience leading teams, developing talent and fostering a high-performance, inclusive culture.

  • Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of broader business strategies and drivers.

  • The ability to interpret and apply general and complex information, developing practical, fit-for-purpose solutions in consultation with stakeholders.

  • Confidence presenting to and influencing senior leaders, with clear, concise and persuasive communication skills.

  • A collaborative, participative leadership style that builds trust and drives alignment across disciplines and geographies.

  • The agility to navigate change, implement new concepts and deliver results beyond your immediate functional scope.
