Regional Operations Leader - West Coast Research Facilities

We are looking for an energetic, service-driven leader who thrives in dynamic environments, enjoys building relationships, and is passionate about developing people. This is an opportunity to step into a highly visible, multi-site leadership role within a growing organization that supports critical preclinical research.

Overseeing 3+ West Coast facilities, you will shape operational performance, elevate client experience, and build a strong, engaged regional team culture. This position offers meaningful influence, strong executive exposure, and clear growth potential within an expanding organization.

Regular regional travel is required, along with occasional national travel.

What You'll Own
  • Lead operational excellence across multiple accredited research facilities, ensuring exceptional animal care, regulatory compliance, and consistent service delivery.
  • Create alignment across sites by strengthening workflows, documentation practices, and facility systems.
  • Foster a highly responsive, client-centered culture built on communication, accountability, and partnership.
  • Act as a trusted operational partner to research clients, ensuring smooth onboarding, proactive problem-solving, and long-term relationship development.
  • Coach and develop site leaders and supervisors, investing in team growth, engagement, and professional certifications.
  • Partner cross-functionally with compliance, technical, commercial, and finance teams to drive both operational and business success.
  • Manage regional budgets, staffing strategies, and resource planning while identifying efficiencies and scalable solutions.



Who You Are
  • An experienced laboratory animal operations professional (5+ years) with at least 5 years of people leadership experience.
  • Deeply knowledgeable in in vivo research environments, animal welfare regulations, and accreditation standards.
  • LAT certified (LATg strongly preferred; ILAM or CMAR a plus).
  • Outgoing, approachable, and naturally service-oriented - you enjoy being visible, building trust, and solving problems collaboratively.
  • Passionate about mentoring others and creating opportunities for your team to grow.
  • Comfortable traveling regularly and maintaining an active on-site presence.
  • Degree in a science-related field preferred.




Compensation: $145-165K DOE
