THE POSITION

Become a vital member of our team as a Clerical Assistant 3 within the Department of Transportation's Bureau of Motor Vehicles. This is an essential role that ensures efficient issuance, cash handling, and deposit processes associated with cash drawers, ensuring that counter mode employees are equipped with the necessary funds to perform their duties. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will ensure that the counter mode employee has sufficient funds to carry out their duties, while also handling various cash-related tasks such as preparing deposits, reconciling accounts, and executing daily cash-out procedures. Additionally, you will be responsible for transporting cash deposits to the bank and providing clerical assistance in the counter service area, which may include processing applications for motor vehicle titles, registrations, duplicate titles, and other related transactions.

Daily verification of additional funds for various banks and managing change requests will be essential to maintain cash operations. You will also check employees' cash drawers against the CARATS system, alerting them to any discrepancies, and will be tasked with opening and securing safes as needed. Furthermore, you will collect and verify cash from counter employees, ensuring all funds are accounted for, and will track and issue materials for the Driver License printer.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 6:45 AM to 2:45 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
