DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position you will serve as a department subject matter expert on Automated Vehicle Location (AVL) and other integrated systems of it, providing technical oversight, training, troubleshooting, and operational support to district, county, and central office staff. The position coordinates installation, maintenance, system upgrades, and vendor support; delivers training materials and programs; monitors system performance and resolves technical issues; manages AVL portal administration and data reporting; supports roadway program data collection and analysis; assists with contract oversight; and oversees inventory, distribution, and lifecycle management of AVL equipment to ensure effective and efficient operation of the department's fleet technology systems. Furthermore, you will serve in a backup capacity in the case of staff absence or lack of availability, for the Department's Area Command and in this capacity is responsible for responding to incidents and emergencies 24/7, as needed. This may require reporting to PEMA's Commonwealth Watch and Warning Center (CWWC) or Area Command and working extended shifts.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- The role requires participation in a weekly rotation for 24/7 on-call duties, along with the necessity of working 24/7 shifts during ETO activations.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience as a Roadway Programs Specialist or Roadway Programs Technician Supervisor (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Three years of experience in the analysis, development, and implementation of methods and techniques used in a roadway maintenance management system; and an associate's degree in a field of business administration, computer science, highway engineering technology or closely related program; or
- One year of experience in the analysis, development, and implementation of methods and techniques used in a roadway maintenance management system; and a bachelor's degree in business administration, computer science, mathematics, statistics, or civil engineering related discipline; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:
- This position requires possession of a driver's license that is not under suspension.
