Requisition ID req35855 Working Title Library Info Specialist 2 Position Grade 09 Position Summary The University of New Mexico's College of University Libraries & Learning Sciences (UL&LS) is seeking a fulltime Library Information Specialist 2. This position will support Access Services in the Fine Arts & Design Library and contribute to operations across additional library facilities and service locations. THE POSITION & TEAM The successful candidate will join Access Services & Undergraduate Engagement, the team that helps UNM and community library users access information by providing services across library buildings and online in the areas of: circulation, resource sharing (Interlibrary Loan/Document Delivery), technology lending, course reserves, information and research help, and collection maintenance. Within the UL's main campus buildings, we provide comfortable and dynamic spaces to support individual and collaborative learning. We also offer programming in library spaces to engage our campus and community with information and ideas. The position is primarily based in the Fine Arts & Design Library (FADL). FADL is one of the three main campus libraries and supports the University's teaching and research programs with a focus on Art, Architecture, Music, and Photography. Located in George Pearl Hall on the southern edge of Main Campus, FADL offers a variety of study and learning spaces and is popular with students, faculty, staff, and community members. During the Fall and Spring semesters, the anticipated work schedule is Sunday-Thursday and includes regular coverage of the Sunday 11:30 AM-7:30 PM shift at Zimmerman Library. During Summer Session and Winter Break, the schedule is Monday-Friday at FADL. The successful candidate will monitor daily operations and contribute to public services delivery in a busy public services setting. The position requires handling, sorting, and storing library material. The position also involves the use of different integrated library systems to maintain inventory records and specialized software used for interlibrary loan and circulation services. Incumbents will bring library experience and skills, proven ability to work effectively in a team environment, and an interest in learning new skills. Contributing to creating an inclusive environment for all library users is an ongoing responsibility. The position reports to the Operations Manager, Fine Arts & Design Library. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
