Responsibilities

A strategic and visionary Chief Credit Strategy Officer will spearhead strategic initiatives, including the evaluation of our people, processes and systems to determine the most effective and efficient operating model for our credit risk management organization. Reporting directly to the CCO, this executive-level position will be pivotal in shaping and executing our credit risk strategy, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and Heightened Standards and industry best practices. The role requires a deep understanding of credit risk, data analytics, and automation to drive informed decision-making and enhance overall organizational effectiveness. This position will also be a managerial role with a team of credit policy, credit systems and data and credit reporting professionals driving many of these initiatives.

We are an in-office culture with offices throughout Chicago land and will consider candidates based throughout our footprint from Fargo to Chattanooga.

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $136,000 - $279,100 per year plus bonus. The base salary indicated for this position reflects the compensation range applicable to all levels of the role across the United States. Actual salary offers within this range may vary based on a number of factors, including the specific responsibilities of the position, the candidate's relevant skills and professional experience, educational qualifications, and geographic location.

Key Accountabilities
- Credit and Lending Process Optimization: Lead efforts to streamline and enhance credit and lending processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction. Identify areas for improvement and implement best practices to optimize workflows.
* Credit Policy Implementation: Develop, implement, and maintain credit policies that align with regulatory requirements and organizational goals. Ensure policies are effectively communicated and adhered to across the organization.
* Heightened Standards Implementation: Oversee the implementation of heightened standards for credit and lending practices, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and internal policies. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of these standards.
* Credit Risk Data & Reporting: Drive a culture of data insight, monitoring, and dynamic forecasting. Maturing current standards for data risk aggregation and reporting aiding Heightened Standards while evolving portfolio monitoring allowing the business to grow in a transparent and thoughtful way.
* Business Process Outsourcing: Identify opportunities for business process outsourcing to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs. Develop and execute outsourcing strategies, manage Infosys relationships for Credit, and ensure seamless integration of outsourced processes.
* Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership to the credit and lending teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive organizational goals and initiatives.
* Risk Management: Assess and mitigate risks associated with credit and lending processes. Implement robust risk management frameworks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
* Performance Monitoring: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor the effectiveness of credit and lending processes. Analyze data and generate reports to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, vendors, and business partners. Communicate effectively to ensure alignment and support for strategic initiatives.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

    Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in credit risk management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within financial services or a related industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field required. Master's degree preferred.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with expertise in credit risk modeling, data analytics, and statistical methods. Proficiency in credit risk management systems and software.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence teams without direct authority. Proven track record in driving strategic initiatives and managing organizational change.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to executives and stakeholders.
  • In-depth understanding of relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
    Ability to think strategically and anticipate future trends and challenges in credit risk management.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing risks.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
  • High ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining the highest level of integrity and professionalism in all interactions.
