Shift: Nights(8 Hours)

Pay Range: $24.40/hr. - $28.20/hr.

Position Summary

The Phlebotomist is responsible for performing blood collection activities for the purpose of health assessment. The Phlebotomist also performs all activities, pre-analytic analysis, analytic analysis, and data management under the direction of a California Licensed Supervisor as defined in Chapter 3 of State of California Business and Professions Code.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job

* Following appropriate procedures and protocols, performs blood collection activities for the purpose of laboratory testing and health assessment as well as prepares/dispenses blood products.

* Performs analytic functions where allowed by California Law.

* Performs venipuncture and finger stick specimen collection activities from pediatric, and/or neonatal patient population for the purpose of health assessment.

* Ensures that equipment and safety devices are used appropriately following set guidelines.

* Performs data management activities and documentation.

* Meets Population specific competencies.

* Attends department education and training inservices.

* Participates in specific performance improvement projects.

* Communicates effectively with all patients and emonstrates good customer service skills.

* Performs other duties as assigned.

*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities.
