Job Summary

The Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Supervisor supports and leads safety initiatives within commercial new construction environments, with a strong preference for data center and hyperscale projects. This role oversees the implementation and continuous improvement of HSE programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and alignment with project objectives. The HSE Supervisor provides subject matter expertise, supervises field teams, and promotes a proactive safety culture across union and non-union workforces.

Job Responsibilities




  • Support and manage health, safety, and environmental programs to meet regulatory standards and project requirements.



  • Evaluate existing and new safety programs to ensure effectiveness and alignment with construction and data center operations.



  • Monitor and report injury, illness, and incident-related performance metrics.



  • Serve as a subject matter expert for HSE-related questions and concerns from staff and stakeholders.



  • Oversee safety plans, playbooks, and procedures to ensure they are current, complete, and consistently implemented.



  • Collaborate with project teams to identify opportunities to reduce risk, control costs, and enhance service quality.



  • Establish work schedules, assign tasks, and provide oversight to assigned staff.



  • Address complex safety challenges and apply appropriate solutions to meet team and project objectives.



  • Introduce new techniques or processes to improve team performance and safety outcomes.



  • Ensure individual and team performance positively supports customer and project objectives.



  • Lead by example and guide team members in applying established safety practices and procedures.




Job Requirements




  • Minimum of five years of experience in commercial new construction environments.



  • Experience working with union workforces and on new construction data center projects preferred.



  • Prior shift manager or supervisory experience preferred.



  • Strong understanding of HSE-related processes, procedures, systems, and concepts, with working knowledge of related job functions.



  • Ability to clearly communicate complex concepts or sensitive information.



  • Advanced proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.



  • Excellent organizational skills with a highly inquisitive, detail-oriented mindset.




Education




  • High School Diploma or GED required.




Work Experience




  • Background in commercial new construction required.



  • Exposure to hyperscale or colocation data center construction environments strongly preferred.




Certifications




  • OSHA 30 required.



  • CHST, ASP, or CSP certification preferred.



  • Willingness to obtain STS-C certification within the first 90 days if no BCSP certification is held (support for certification may be provided).
