Certified Medical Coders - Inpatient

We are seeking experienced Certified Medical Coders to join our team in an acute care setting. The ideal candidate will possess proficient computer skills and a deep understanding of coding guidelines and federal billing regulations. This role requires expertise in anatomy, physiology, and disease processes, as well as the ability to research and resolve coding-related issues.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform medical coding in an acute care setting.
  • Utilize MS Word, Excel, ICD 9 CM, CPT 4, and Encoder software.
  • Apply knowledge of coding, payor, and federal billing guidelines.
  • Conduct coder training and demonstrate competence in coding applications.
  • Work with Clinical Documentation Specialists to ensure accuracy.


Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • AHIMA, RHIA, or RHIT certification and/or CCP, CCS


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Three years of experience in medical coding.
  • Proficient in ICD10 coding.
  • Experience with EPIC and 3M coding applications.
  • CCS certification is required.
  • Inpatient and outpatient coding experience is ideal.


Work Arrangement

This position starts with 1-2 weeks of onsite training and then transitions to remote work. The hiring manager is flexible with scheduling. Candidates should be able to work independently with minimal training.


Additional Information

We are seeking certified coders with a strong inpatient coding background to fill this vacancy. The role requires previous experience working with Clinical Documentation Specialists.
