Certified Medical Coders - Outpnt & ED

Medical coding in an acute care setting is required. Candidates must possess proficient computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, ICD 9 CM, CPT 4, and Encoder. A strong understanding of coding guidelines, payor guidelines, and federal billing guidelines is essential. Additionally, knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and disease processes is required. The ability to research coding-related issues and competence in coder training is necessary. Candidates must have CCS certification and be knowledgeable with the 3M/HDS coding application. Outpatient and ED experience is required.


Education Requirement

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • AHIMA, RHIA or RHIT and/or CCP, CCS


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Three years of experience
  • Knowledge of ICD10


Schedule Notes

This role is remote now, with 1-2 weeks of onsite training at the start. The Hiring Manager is flexible.


Experience Requirements

  • Must have EPIC and 3M experience
  • CCS OR CPC certification must be from AHIMA, RHIA or RHIT
  • Ideal candidate has a minimum of 4 years of outpatient coding experience
  • Need someone who has ED coding experience


Work Arrangement

Starts onsite for training, then transitions to remote work once duties are mastered.


Additional Notes

Seeking certified coders with a strong inpatient coding background. Candidates should be able to work with minimal training.
