Location: Montgomery, AL | $7,000 Sign-on Bonus Sign-On Bonus This position includes a $7,000 sign-on bonus, paid in three installments over your first year of employment at the 3-month, 6-month, and 12-month employment milestones. Each installment is contingent upon active employment and being in good standing with the company at the time of payment. Sign-on bonus payments are treated as taxable income and subject to applicable withholdings. Overtime is available. The Quality Training Specialist will be responsible for trade-related curriculum development and training for new and existing IES teams, quality audits and on-site support to IES projects. Job Duties and Responsibilities Develops and provides trade-related, project management, and delivery training in the classroom, including hands-on demonstrations (e.g., class outlines, presentations, handouts, tests, design exercises). Develops pre-employment, trade-related job skill assessments (both hands-on and written). Prepares employees to accomplish job results by developing, planning, conducting, and evaluating management training. Conducts training needs assessments by collecting information on work procedures, workflow, and reports, and by understanding job-specific functions and tasks. Conducts training classes by presenting job-specific and company-specific software applications using computers, virtual classrooms, webinars, and other methods as required. Evaluates training by assessing its effectiveness for specific job applications. Administers written and practical exams and writes performance reports to evaluate trainees' performance. Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organizational standards. Implements training processes and best practices that add value and improve business performance. Maintains personal knowledge, training, and proficiency on installed products and course materials. Works with the training team to design and implement new training programs and revise existing ones. Ensures a safe and pleasant learning environment for staff and students. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Physical and Mental Requirements Operates as a team member of management. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Leads by positive example on policy, quality, safety, employee relations, ethics, and customer satisfaction. Must be able to work a non-standard schedule as required to provide job, team, or individual-specific training. For demonstration purposes, must be able to climb ladders, use hand and power tools, and lift 50 pounds. Must be self-motivated, positive in approach, and professional, leading others to create, develop, implement, and review project process improvements. Must promote the Company culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients, and business partners. Must possess proven problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to effectively read, write, and give oral presentations. Must have a proven high skill level interpreting blueprints and other project documents, including but not limited to specifications, reporting, and quality requirements. Must be able to travel within the branch territory and/or regional territory as needed. Must possess the ability to learn and teach Company and customer project management systems. Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements Minimum of three (3) years of training experience or a related role. Minimum of five (5) years of project management experience in telecommunications, electrical, or a related technical or construction field preferred. BICSI-certified trainer preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of job costing, job planning, quality management, safety training, and contract administration. Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project). Must meet Company minimum driving standards. High School diploma or equivalent. Working knowledge of instructional design and adult learning theory and practice preferred. Able to effectively use basic hand tools: screwdriver (regular and Phillips), torpedo level, tape measure, snips (with belt sheath), pliers (needle-nose and channel locks), crescent wrench, stitching needle, cable shears, flush-cutting pliers, multimeter, and rubber mallet (gray). Highly knowledgeable of materials, methods, and tools used in the commercial construction industry. Able to determine the kind of tools and equipment needed for a job. Good knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and their practical application. Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing publications. Working knowledge of the construction process (bid process, project management, delegation, financial, etc.).
