The RoleThis role is instrumental in driving operational excellence and compliance within our revenue recognition processes across our different revenue streams. The Senior Revenue Accountant is responsible for managing revenue recognition processes in compliance with ASC 606, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of revenue. This is a HYBRID opportunity with 4 days in-office and 1 day remote. Your Impact
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of revenue accounts to the general ledger.Calculate and record revenue adjustments in accordance with company policies and GAAP.
  • Participate in the monthly close process and record revenue related journal entries in a timely manner.
  • Help manage the revenue accounting system Zuora, including opening/closing periods as part of the monthly close process.
  • Ensuring deadlines are met on a monthly/quarterly basis, including delivering revenue reporting both internally and to AspenTech's parent company Emerson.
  • Perform key SOX internal controls.
  • Prepare and book journal entries to ensure the appropriate revenue treatment.
  • Support internal and external audit activities, including SOX Compliance.
  • Work closely with other groups in the Finance department, including GL Accounting and FP&A.
What You'll Need
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent work experience required.
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), specifically around software revenue recognition and multi-element arrangements.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' relevant work experience.
  • CPA/MBA/public accounting experience is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate clearly.
  • Strong organizational skills. Ability to multi-task and meet established deadlines.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
  • Experience with Power BI Query and Snowflake is a plus.
  • Experience with accounting systems Oracle or Zuora (RevPro) is a plus.
The salary range for this role is $77,900.00 - $97,400.00. This range represents what we in good faith believe is the range possible for base compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range based on several factors. This range may be modified in the future. This role is also eligible for bonus or variable incentive pay. Additionally, we offer a comprehensive benefits package including paid time off, charitable giveback day, medical/dental/vision insurance, and retirement benefits to eligible employees.
