General Summary:

The Construction Auditor is responsible for evaluating and ensuring the compliance of construction activities and infrastructure projects with company standards, regulatory requirements, and project specifications. This role involves conducting detailed audits of construction processes, identifying potential risks or discrepancies, and recommending corrective actions to improve efficiency, safety, and quality. The Construction Auditor collaborates with internal teams to ensure the integrity of infrastructure projects and their alignment with established standards. The position also includes maintaining audit documentation, generating reports, and contributing to continuous process improvements within the company's construction practices.

Essential Job Functions:



  • Performs detailed audits on construction activities and existing infrastructure to ensure compliance with company standards, regulatory requirements, project specifications and detect potential risks and discrepancies;
  • Works in the field, traveling up to 90% of the time to conduct on-site audits and assessments;
  • Works closely with construction teams to address audit findings and implement corrective actions;
  • Ensures that all audit documentation is complete, organized, and up-to-date for future reference and compliance purposes;
  • Compares redline prints to contractor invoices to identify and resolve any discrepancies, ensuring accuracy in billing and project documentation;
  • Actively monitors construction sites for safety hazards and ensure compliance with safety protocols to minimize risks and promote a safe working environment;
  • Checks and responds to emails in a timely manner;
  • Travels to customer sites, project areas, business related events, and other Ritter Communications locations as required;
  • Performs other related duties and projects as assigned.


    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



    • Knowledge of telecommunication construction process, including aerial and underground, along with easement access rights and NESC processes and regulations;
    • Knowledge of auditing processes, techniques, and tools, as well as company policies and procedures;
    • Knowledge of audit documentation requirements, including proper reporting and record-keeping practices;
    • Knowledge of various operating systems, Word, Excel, Explorer and Outlook;
    • Skill in organization and time management;
    • Ability to have a keen attention to detail to identify small discrepancies or non-compliance issues that could affect the integrity of a project;
    • Ability to react to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently;
    • Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities;
    • Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential;
    • Ability to travel for business requirements; must possess a valid Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.


      Education and Experience:

      High School diploma or equivalent required; three years of OSP construction work experience and/or demonstrated proficiency equal to job knowledge skills and abilities required.
