As part of the Registration, Residency, and Transcripts team, the Residency Classification Coordinator plays a vital role in delivering exceptional service and supporting the University of Arizona's commitment to Success for Every Student. This position evaluates residency applications for tuition purposes by reviewing documentation, conducting interviews, and applying state, Board of Regents, and institutional policies with accuracy and fairness. The Coordinator provides clear and empathetic guidance to students and families navigating the residency process, ensuring an equitable experience grounded in transparency and regulatory compliance. The role collaborates regularly with campus partners to promote consistent understanding of residency requirements while upholding the high service standards of the Office of the Registrar. The Office of the Registrar is responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the academic record. Serving all students, faculty, academic units, and student support functions; the Office is charged with the implementation of academic and student policies and their alignment to state and federal regulations and accreditation standards. | Duties & Responsibilities |
- Evaluates residency applications in accordance with state law, ABOR policy, and institutional guidelines, including reviewing documentation, conducting interviews, and verifying information.
- Interprets and clearly communicates residency requirements, policies, and procedures to students, families, and campus partners, supporting applicants throughout the classification and appeal process.
- Prepares official communications related to residency decisions and requests for additional documentation.
- Contributes to policy and process improvements and assists in developing forms, training materials, and presentations for orientations and appeal committees.
- Maintains accurate and up to date residency information in the student information system and ensures documentation and records align with institutional and regulatory requirements.
- Represents the Office of the Registrar in orientations, departmental meetings, and appeal proceedings, providing accurate guidance on residency requirements.
- Provides high quality service by responding to student and campus inquiries through in person, email, and phone interactions with clarity and care.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to make independent decisions

| Minimum Qualifications |
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.

In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University's campuses.Thesereports disclose information including Clery crime statistics for the previous three calendar years and policies, procedures, and programs the University uses to keep students and employees safe, including how to report crimes or other emergencies and resources for crime victims. As a campus with residential housing facilities, the Main Campus ASR also includes a combined Annual Fire Safety report with information on fire statistics and fire safety systems, policies, and procedures.
