Job Summary

The Cutter Grind Inspector & Material Handler supports the Cutter Grind department by performing visual and automated dimensional inspections, managing raw materials and inventory, running specialized marking and edge-prep equipment, and maintaining accurate tracking of all tools throughout the manufacturing processes. This role enusres product quality, material accuracy, and smooth workflow within the department.

Job Responsibilities

Inspection:



  • Perform visual inspection of tools before and after outside processing to verify condition, finish, and conformance
  • Conduct dimensional inspections using the automated Zoller inspection machine, following establised programs and procedures
  • Review Zoller measurement reports, verify conformance to specifications, and escalate nonconforming results
  • Maintain inspection logs, save digtial measurement records, and enusre traceability



Material Handling & Inventory Mangement:



  • Manage and organize raw material with correct labeling, storage, and traceability
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels for raw stock, work-in-process, and finished tools
  • Move and stage tools and materials throughout the Cutter Grind department as needed



Laser Marking:



  • Operate laser marking equipment to apply required part identification, customer information, or serialization
  • Verify marking quality and ensure accuracy of information



Packing & Labeling:



  • Package tools in accordance with internal and customer standards
  • Apply correct part labels, identifcation tags, and documentation to outgoing tools



Equipment Operation:



  • Set up and operate the edge prep machine to apply required edge hone or preparation
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance on assigned equipement (laser marker, edge prep machine, zoller as applicable)



Tracking & Documentation:



  • Update all tool tracking information, job routers, departmental logs, and digital systems
  • Ensure accurate recordkeeping for inspection events, outside processing, and final release



Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications:



  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Experience in a manufacturing, machining, or tooling environment preferred
  • Competence with basic measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
  • Ability to use computer systems for documentation and tracking
  • Must be a US Person (Citizen or Green Card Holder) or have the ability to obtain the necessary Government licensing to work with controlled technology and products



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Familiarity with CNC tool grinders or cutting tools
  • Ability to operate or lean automated inspection systems, such as Zoller.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow through
  • Ability to use computer systems for documentation and tracking
  • Ability to Operate a fork lift



Physical Requirements:



  • Ability to stand for extended periods (At least 7hr/day)
  • Ability to lift and move materials up to 40lbs
  • Manal dexterity for handling precision tools and components
