Santa Barbara Infrared, Inc. is currently recruiting for the position of Vice President of Finance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties assigned as necessary.



Financial Leadership & Reporting



  • Own full P&L and balance sheet responsibility.
  • Provide timely and accurate financial reporting to both SBIR leadership and HEICO, ensuring compliance with internal, external (SEC), and regulatory requirements.
  • Develops, analyzes and interprets statistical and accounting information in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the organization.


Planning & Forecasting



  • Financial plan ownership, review and approval, including Rate Plan, Annual SBIR Budget Plan, and 5-year forecasts.
  • On-going revenue management/tracking/forecasting. Provides continuous guidance to SBIR senior management with a view to compliance with HEICO financial standards, policies and practices, and performance-to-budget. Owner of all reports and dashboards that give visibility of business performance to the management team.
  • Provides appropriate financial and operating information to facilitate company planning and results measurement.
  • Partner with senior leadership on strategic planning an investment decisions


Cost, Inventory and Operational Finance



  • Oversee cost accounting and inventory valuation processes, ensuring compliance with policy and accuracy of reporting.
  • Provide pricing support for sales and program management.
  • Keeps executive management informed of the company's performance and provides advice on financial matters.


Controls & Compliance



  • Supervises general accounting, internal audit, cost accounting and budgetary controls.
  • Develops and maintains company policy in regards to cash receipts, controlling disbursements, and overseeing bank balances.
  • Supervises payroll processing.
  • Establishes and maintains the AP/AR procedures.
  • Evaluates and implements computerized accounting systems, as required.
  • Reviews established financial policies and procedures and recommends modifications, as necessary.


Team Leadership



  • Lead, mentor and develop the Finance and Accounting team, ensuring alignment with Company and HEICO values
  • Foster a culture of accountability, responsiveness and continuous improvement.
  • Attract, retain and grow talent to support future business needs.


Supervisory Responsibilities:


Manages financial personnel. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training team members; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining team members; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Requirements

Education/Experience:



  • Bachelor's level degree in Accounting or Finance required. CPA, CMA or Master's degree strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive financial management experience, ideally in a highly-engineered electronic manufacturing environment.
  • Strong technical expertise across general ledger, budgeting, cost accounting, A/P, A/R, Payroll and Finance, including financial statement preparation.
  • Experience with ERP systems (EPICOR, Visual Manufacturing or equivalent). ERP implementation experience a plus.
  • Proven ability to deliver accurate, timely financial information under tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, with success in building and managing high-performing teams.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with leadership at SBIR and HEICO Corporate.
  • High attention to detail, strong analytical skills and ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of Government Cost Accounting Principles.
