As the Senior Director of Care Value at Optum, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing healthcare economics through innovative strategies and insights. This position is designed for a leader who can develop the Medical Spend Insights capability, which aims to uncover the root causes and drivers of medical costs. You will lead research projects and conduct ad hoc analyses that support various affordability initiatives, ensuring that the organization can effectively address key affordability concerns. Your ability to generate affordability research and analysis will be crucial in identifying trending areas and root causes, which will be developed into actionable affordability content. In this role, you will be responsible for building and nurturing relationships across finance and affordability teams within Optum. This collaboration will be essential for understanding key affordability concerns and managing areas of unmanaged spend. You will also work closely with various partners to size projects and establish the financial value of new affordability and innovation solutions. Your leadership will extend to managing a team of Associate Directors, Care Value Optimization Consultants and analysts, focusing on their development and the production of insights and data. You will provide mentoring, technical guidance, and direction to your team, establishing best practices and processes that enhance productivity and effectiveness. The Senior Director of Care Value reports to the VP, Care Value & Medical Management MidAmerica. This is a remote position, and candidates may reside anywhere in the United States. The role requires approximately 25% field-based travel, including occasional overnight stays. Travel is typically planned and aligned to business needs for purposes of operational collaboration and relationship management. The position involves frequent face-to-face engagement with local network medical practices within assigned markets, and the individual must be able to meet all travel requirements of the role. You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week. Primary Responsibilities:

The salary for this role will range from $134,600 to $230,800 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
