Planner II
Position Profile:
The Aerospace Production Planner is responsible for the efficient scheduling and coordination of materials and essential services to support production and development orders. This role ensures the timely execution of work orders/jobs and purchase order requisitions/suggestions by managing both MRP and non-MRP requirements, overseeing material flow, assisting with the disposition of non-conforming materials, and maintaining system integrity. The planner plays a critical role in optimizing operations by facilitating communication across departments, monitoring performance metrics, and proactively resolving scheduling challenges.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, technical or administration (or relative years of experience)
- Occasionally needs support on long range planning and estimating.
- Knowledgeable with ERP/MRP and proficient with pegging to determine root cause of demand.
- ECC's: Runs and actions daily, free of errors.
- Plord: Runs and actions at least twice a week to ensure proper planning. Reviews sale order to ensure proper flow down requirements, i.e. material requirements.
- Work is accurate and error free. Occasionally will require assistance from a higher-level planner.
- Knowledgeable with most model numbers and their associated long lead parts.
- Contributes to a positive and cooperative work environment through effective communication at all levels internal to the organization. Initiates meetings to resolve issues. Engage in cross-departmental collaboration to drive tasks to completion while adhering to defined procedural guidelines.

- Actively participate in team meetings, improvement tasks. Proficient in excel and exporting of data for review and communication of proposed changes
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Epicor ERP Software.
Essential or Primary / Key Responsibilities:
Planning & Scheduling
- Develop, plan, and manage work order/jobs schedules to meet production and development needs.
- Release purchase order requisitions/suggestions in a timely manner to maintain material flow.
- Monitor and resolve component shortages to prevent delays in production.
- Maintain oversight of material movement from order initiation to completion.
Production & Operations Support
- Anticipate program needs and expedite materials and tools for production, manufacturing, and assembly operations.
- Ensure work orders/jobs are scheduled with consideration of maintenance, new product development, inventory availability, and capacity planning.
- Generate and communicate detailed production schedules, summarizing statuses for internal teams.
- Lead issue resolution when products are behind schedule or at risk of delays.
- Own and manage production orders from start to finish, tracking time, output, and resolving discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date ERP system data to drive production schedules and material planning.
Cross-functional Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with manufacturing, engineering, quality, purchasing, and management to ensure smooth production workflows.
- Clearly communicate schedules, changes, and potential risks to internal teams.
- Actively participate in team meetings, process improvement initiatives, and company-wide objectives.
- Assist in training personnel on planning and scheduling functions.
Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement
- Measure and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure adherence to schedules and overall efficiency.
- Identify and drive process improvements to enhance planning and scheduling effectiveness.
Compliance & Safety
- Adhere to all safety, quality, and company policies to maintain compliance with regulatory and internal system requirements.
- Maintain a clean, secure, and well-organized work environment.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills Required
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or related planning and scheduling experience in a fast-paced, mixed-product manufacturing environment.
- Experience with supporting production cells within as ESD environment.
- Working knowledge of MRP systems and planning/scheduling methodologies.
- Familiarity with LEAN Manufacturing principles.
Technical & Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities to interact with all levels of personnel, suppliers, and customers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP/MRP systems.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining a collaborative team environment.
- Effective time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Work Environment:
- This job interacts both in a professional office environment and a manufacturing/machine shop environment. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, as well as environments inclusive of the appropriate eye, hearing and foot protection (as required).
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to conditions typical of a manufacturing/machine shop environment, including, but not limited to: fluids, fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, noise and vibration
- Temperature of work environment may be affected by outside/external temperatures, machining processes, etc.
- This is a full-time, on-site position. Days and hours of work are 8 hours, Monday through Friday. Extra time and weekend work are required, as job duties demand.
- Minimal travel may be required for this position.
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Vision and color vision must pass job-required vision screening
- The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, and to use hands to finger, handle or feel
- The employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, stoop, or crouch, and move about the facility.
- The employee may be required to lift and/or move items weighing up to 25 pounds.
This Position is at our Parsippany, NJ Office.
Pay Range: $70,000 - $83,000/year
